Hello guys, today, Im sharing to you one of my most indept strategies in a MOBA game called Dota 2.

Dota 2 and other MOBA games is a fast growing sports around the world, with The International (the biggest annual dota2 tournament) giving away 24,000,000 $ in it's prize pool this last August, Dota 2 is no doubt a ground breaking phenomena in the world of cyber sports.

If you're a new player in Dota 2 with basic knowledge about it, this post is for you. But if you're kind of a total beginner, I suggest to you to try playing the game first a couple of times before looking into this post since some of the terms here are kind of too advanced for the none experienced.

Leshrac is a tank mage in theory, his abilities tend to be more effective in melee even though he is ranged with his normal attack.

Leshrac is good as a mage carry that can create a lot of space for the team if he gets a good start within his first 20 minutes of the game. On the top of that, if ever Leshrac gains the space itself, enemy team loses a lot of tower or pushing space whenever they do so. So dealing with a Leshrac at a good game is kind of a pain in the ass to be honest.

note: space is the allowance given to other players that comes out for these players when other opponents are too busy for them to deal with, the dota 2 map is so big that any wrong movement can give any player opportunities to gain free gold- maybe I should make a post about the term space for more insight

He can fight toe to toe with main mid staples like Puck, Queen of Pain, Tinker, Invoker or even Viper if played in favor of the situation because of his decent attack range and damage.

Leshrac can go offlane, safe lane, mid lane and can even be either a position 4 or a position 5 support if the situation calls for it or if the player using it wants too.

Skills and Abilities

Leshrac's first ability is called Split Earth, I will not be putting the details of the abilites like damage and stun duration, cause it is possible that by the time I post this, Lesrac's skills might be already nurfed. To tell you, this skill is kind of tricky. It's casting range and damage is fair. What makes this ability hard is it's animation or casting time which is one second before it gets into effect. I, personally, level this ability last, after I max my second and third ability if I'm playing as a core position(offlaner, mid laner safe, laner). But if I'm to use it as a support, i'll max this ability first before my second and third.

Diabolic Edict, one of Leshrac's bread and butter in terms of attacking a lane's tower. I usually max this ability first when I'm mid. This ability, when activated, summons up random explosions around Leshrac that is physical, which means, it can be used to take down towers. This is my favorite ability of Leshrac, maxing it makes your opponent in your lane to regret going home or leaving his lane for a moment.

Putting Diabolic Edict at it's third level at your level five can take down a first tower easily(without fortification). This ability makes Leshrac a good pusher.

Leshrac's third ability called Lightning Storm used to be a really strong ability. It used to be a 300 damage ability with really low cooldown(4 seconds) and low mana cost(120) and it even has a retarded crowd control of 75% movement speed reduction that can take effect for a full second!

To tell you, my butt went aching when this ability got nurfed years ago down to 200 damage. During those times, I'll just rush and max out my Diabolic Edict and Lightning Storm ignoring my first ability and ultimate until I reach level 9. That time, Leshrac's capabilities was so broken that a lot of players that knows it's ridiculousness increased their MMR rankings within just a month with just spamming this hero.

But even so that big decrease in damage happened, this ability is still an important ability for Leshrac since it is effective for slowing down enemies and clearing out creeps.

Pulse Nova is Leshrac's ultimate, it's a toggle ability which means that it can be turn on and off whenever you want.

When activated, Pulse Nova will drain Leshrac's mana in exchange of dealing 80-120 damage around him. To tell you, it's not as impressive as the first three skills in Leshrac's abilities since this ability just makes it a thickener of damage for Leshrac. It just adds up with the first three abilities which is why players still levels it up as well.

Leshrac is very squishy at start so I usually buy a lot of cheap stat items at start for him like magic stick, bracer or a null talisman if ever I wanted more damage.

Warding up important ganking points(if you're mid) is really important for Leshrac since the timing for his pushes is really critical for the game itself. Dying out of ganks for around two to three times would really affect Leshrac's item and pushing timing.

Leshrac has a lot of counter picks like Clockwork, Lina Inverse, Blood Seeker, Lion and Bane Elemental. The strategy in dealing with them is easily countered by buying the proper items.

A good sample to this is by buying force staff if you have an opponent Clock Work. You might say that having a Black King Bar would be the best option here, but if you look more into it, Black King Bar is a hard item to reach specially when the game gets hard. Cheap items like Force Staff, Euls Scepter of Divinity or just a Rod of Atos are crucial items since you can get them as early as the first 10 minutes of the game. But if your game is good and the Clock Work is incompetent, buying to straight core items like Blood Stone, Octarine Core, Heart of Tarasque and Black King Bar would be a better idea. The game really depends on the players most of the time in public games.

At this rate, the Clock Work will just leech some levels at his offlane and will try to reach his level six ASAP. He will build a Blade Mail with the fastest he can and will start to bombard Leshrac with ganks in the mid game around 12-15 minutes of the game. Having force staff at that rate would save you a lot of times until you get a hold of your core items.

As a my staple, I always look at how my opponents draft. I check up who will be doing the core roles and if the players on the other side has chemistry and team work. Most of the time, specially in sea server, people are so toxic that they don't give each other the space for them to work things out. At times like that, take the opportunity to take advantage of their unharmonous work and inbalance.

I usually rush for Blood Stone and Boots of Travel first as my core items. A standard game for my Leshrac usually takes around 20 minutes to get a hold of these two core items.

The idea is to have a lot of mana to spam out skills on creeps in lane and have the mobility to shift from lane to lane to give space to your allies. Just try it out, you'll understand what I mean here once you started trying Leshrac in a game.

After I get a hold of my Blood Stone and Boots of Travel, I usually get a Black King Bar. Sometimes, I just choose to have a Heart of Tarasque or a Shiva's Guard depending on how I approach the game.

Leshrac shines in the mid game and the late games like a center of Area Of Effect damage, the strategy in clash is simple, live as long as you can so you can deal as much damage as you can.

You know, this strategy is nothing without the actual application, if I were you, I would be playing right now and try things out. If you have questions, ask me at the comments section about Leshrac and I'll gladly answer them all. So thank you for dropping by and have a nice day.
