Nintendo Fails Us Again! BANS Streaming - Gaming Wars #5

in #gaming7 years ago

So, Nintendo must think this is the 1980's and that they are the industry leader. If they do believe this, they would be wrong on two accounts: 1) this isn't the 1980's, and, 2) Sony is the console leader by FAR.

Matter of fact, Sony's PS4 is on par with the 3DS handhelds. That's crazy...

But today, Nintendo announced that they would ban live streaming on YouTube for their Nintendo Creators members. The reason? Probably something to do with ads or the like, but we're not sure. What we are sure about is that you would have to create a new account to stream if you are a Nintendo Creators member.

This is backwards, and streaming games typically bring new members to the streamed games. The community members may like to watch people playing games, but they also like would buy the games they watch streamed. The logic behind Nintendo and their recent business decisions is just inexcusable, and they are my favorite company (well, maybe Tesla is now, but close enough).

Other things they missed out on were the inclusion of an XBOX live-esque gaming network to chat (and still are), not making their previous consoles 3rd party friendly, and the move away from listening to their USA employees because they think with the Japanese market slowness in mind.

I'm not saying that the Switch sales will slow down, but I know that their reach is going to slow a bit, although this only bans it on YouTube, not Twitch.

What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them below.
