Who remembers the Super Nintendo console?
I do! How could one forget?
Here's my personal Top 5 favourite SNES games:
- STREET FIGHTER II TURBO
From the menu music to double jumping off the sides of your TV screen, everything about this classic fighting game was super cool. Hours of childhood was lost trying to beat every fighter in the game, but once you do actually do it, you realise that it was time well spent :P
- YOSHI'S ISLAND
I'm getting emotional thinking about this lovely game. You play as Yoshi who has to protect baby Mario from the dangers of this dreamy but dangerous island. The colourful levels, the soundtrack and the fact that you can swallow your enemies and then poop them out as egg weapons make this title one of the best games ever released on SNES.
- ROBOCOP VS. TERMINATOR
What's more fun than going on a one man mission to destroy a cyborg? I loved the dark themed levels on this game and the extreme difficulty. When you die you start all over again (a typical SNES game feature), this meant timely jumps, dodging bullets and literally being the first to shoot your weapon.
- SUPER MARIO KART
A blueprint for so many karting games to come, Mario Kart was so much more than a straight forward racing game. If you drove into an item box, you would be granted a random weapon to help you get ahead in the race. Shells to shoot at other racers, stars to zoom past or maybe a banana skin to leave your opponent spinning for days :P
Oh yeah and if you mastered drifting your an O.G.
- SUPER MARIO ALL STARS
Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels all jam packed into one cartridge, need I say more. After hours on this game, I felt like I knew the Italian plumber personally.
