Activision is planning on releasing remastered titles in 2018

in #gaming6 years ago

During Activision’s annual investors report, the company have revealed that they are planning on remastering a number of titles from their library in 2018.

Speaking about their plans for 2018, Activision discussed the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth as well as this year’s Call of Duty title and stated that they had plans to continue supporting Overwatch throughout the year. However they added that in addition to their already known releases for 2018 and their support for existing games, they are also working on releasing remastered versions of titles from their ‘library of IP.’

“We expect to deliver ongoing content for our various franchises, including expansion packs for Hearthstone and Destiny 2, in-game events for Overwatch, and map packs for Call of Duty: WWII, as well as releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP.”

While Activision didn’t say what games they would be remastering or when they would be released, there are rumours circulating that a remastered version of Spyro the Dragon is in the works. As reported by Kotaku, a Spryo remaster trilogy could be announced in March with the game releasing towards the end of 2018.

A remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has also been rumoured for several years now, ever since Activision remastered Modern Warfare back in 2016. A remastered version of a Call of Duty game could be on the cards although Activision do have a large library of IPs to choose from that they could remaster.
