Guys, I wanted to share with you my DIY upcycled garden trellis that I built today.
I have been wanting to build something like this for a while now as I am wanting loads of tomatoes and I feel like this is the best option for me.
I had some 10-foot pieces of wood laying around from the previous tenant and decided to put these to good use.
I made a frame out of the wood and screwed it to the raised bed that my tomatoes are going in.
I then planted my tomato seedlings into the raised bed and placed some plastic pint glasses over the top to act as a mini greenhouse.
I also added a couple of stones to the tops of them to stop them from blowing away in the wind.
I was working out how many tomato plants I could add to the planter and it came to 4 but this is still a good amount of plants for what we need.
I decided to take a picture of the plot while it is under construction.
It is really coming along from the short time that I have had the plot, everyone my wife and kids have all chipped in one way or another.
We have taken soil from the top bed and leveled the ground out to make it less of a slope, it works for us and has also given the illusion that the plot is flatter.
The plot is set out like this now, strawberries and raspberries to the top right, and cucumbers and squash to the left, below the cucumbers, is our little herb garden with chives and thyme. I have my beans growing to the right in the middle section with my tomatoes to the left.
There is still space in the middle, I think I am going to add my broccoli and cauliflower to this section, and in the bottom bed is going to be my leafy vegetables.
It is coming on great.
until next time my friends, stay safe.
