1). Harvest Characteristics and Age

Pineapple harvesting is done after the pineapple is 12-24 months old, depending on the type of seed used. Seeds that come from fruiting crowns at the age of 24 months, to harvest fruit after 24 months. Plants originating from stem shoots are harvested after 18 months of age, while root shoots after 12 months of age. The characteristics of pineapple fruits that are ready to be harvested:

a) Open fruit crown.
b) Change stem shrinks.
c) Fruit eyes are more flat, large and round in shape.
d) Color of the base of the yellow fruit.
e) A fragrant and distinctive aroma of pineapple arises.

Production potential per hectare in pineapple plants that are intensively cultivated can reach 38-75 tons / hectare. Generally an average of 20 tons / hectare, depending on the type of pineapple and planting system.

This is very interesting @mansurson. I think it would be really nice to live in a tropical environment were plants like pineapples could be grown and have all around nicer weather year round.
