You would never believe the amount of talented artists in prison.
Addicts are some of the smartest people there are. And that is so true.
We are all so full of untapped potential. When I think back on the person I used to be and the things I used to do I can see this clearly.
I think about all those schemes I used to come up with in order to make money or to get drugs. I put so much effort into upholding my addiction. That’s why I was able to stay shooting dope for 10 years.
For some reason it was so easy for me to come up with strategies like those, but when it came to actual real life success I just felt lost.
Then I realized, if I put even 10% of the effort I put into upholding my addiction, into a plan for a business, I would surely succeed.
I had all the tools and knowledge I needed to start a company, I just didn’t have the confidence or a good enough strategy to take action.
A lot of times I would doubt myself and my abilities. I would tell myself I’m not smart enough, or I’m just a drug addict, I don't have what it takes to be successful.
But in reality, those were all just lies that my fear was making me tell myself.
I had everything it took to be successful. And once I was able to realize that and gain confidence in myself, I was able to start coming up with a strategy.
It wasn’t easy. It still isn't easy. But, knowing that I’m using my talents and energy for something good makes it all worthwhile.
