Do You Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses? Part 2!

Self-Acceptance has become a universal struggle. ⠀
⠀
From teenagers to adults many of us struggle with self-acceptance. There are always going to be flaws of ours that we would like to change. ⠀
⠀
But that’s the problem. We can’t change every single thing about ourselves. Some flaws are just always going to be there. We can’t be amazing at every single thing.⠀
⠀
And that’s why it’s called self-acceptance not self-change.⠀
⠀
Self-acceptance is the awareness of your strengths and weaknesses. It’s the realistic appraisal of your talents, capabilities, and worth. And most importantly it’s the feeling of satisfaction with yourself, despite flaws and regardless of past choices.⠀
⠀
I used to always think that in order to accept and love myself I had to change who I was.⠀
⠀
I thought I had to be the best at everything and be better than everyone else. I thought that self-acceptance equaled perfection. ⠀
⠀
But that’s not true. That’s not the way it works. ⠀
⠀
I can’t be 100% perfect. No matter how hard I try there will always be times when I fuck up and certain things that I’m just not good at. ⠀
⠀
But that's okay. And it wasn’t until I realized that, that I was able to understand what self-acceptance truly meant. ⠀
⠀
And with that knowledge I was able to start taking the right steps towards learning how to accept and embrace myself, flaws and all.⠀
⠀
Do you struggle with self-acceptance?⠀

Thanks for sharing an important fact of life.
It's good to see your picture and it's good for you to be with your son now (Kind of heart moving).

I agree with your content of self-acceptance, but actually there is a step before self-acceptance. That step is self actualization. We cannot accept ourselves if we don't even know who we are. A lot of the stuff we think we are is just a mix of our own reactions to the way others respond to us. When people are not self-actualized they struggle with self-acceptance.

If you actually knew who you were then it wouldn't matter if you had a twisted nose or messed up parents or a dog ugly girlfriend because you was being you. I struggled a lot with self-actualization as a teenager. I tried to be somebody I was not because I really didn't know who I was.

In hive it is so hard to find a tribe or community to post in, but when we post in a community we find rewards and interactions with our posts. It's all about identity. Some communities have rules about what kinds of posts they want to see. It's their community so they can do that. If you don't fit there you can find someplace else.

When we were kids there were only jocks, preps and burnouts. Geeks and nerds were bad words and hipsters had no idea they were hipsters. They were just doing their own thing and nobody cared. A niche was place in a biology book and a profile was something you got when they booked you.

The world is messed up so we have to work all the more to find out who the ____ we are and what the ____ we are doing on this earth before the times up.

Ah S---, now I have to go.

Yes 100% self awareness is definitely something you gotta do if you seek self-acceptance.

Support the HiveBuzz project. Vote for our proposal!

Hey @samrisso
Sorry to jump in with an off-topic comment.
I'm looking for support for HiveSQL. While "approved", the proposal is now unfunded because of the @hbdstabilizer consuming all DHF daily budget.

Do you mind voting for the HiveSQL proposal so it can stay free to use for all devs and users?
Thank you!
