At the hardest of times psychologists, health and well being experts, spiritualists and religious leaders say that while we cannot control what happens to us we can control the way we think and feel. The power we all have is inner power, it can be as weak or as strong as we want. The more positive our attitude the better we cope they say! But, unfortunately there are people whose pessimism significantly affects their emotional and psychological well being. It can take them down to the pit of hopelessness and despair.
Naturally, it feels so much better when we give others the time of day with a kind word, a thank you and a smile. It is like an acknowledgment that they are having the same mental and emotional challenges as you are. We are all in the same boat. Reaching out to others is one of the nicest and kindest acts of coherence and accord during tough times. The coronavirus pandemic is one tough time for us in the world at present.
I had one of those off the cuff chats to a lovely lady this morning outside a 'hole in the wall coffee shop.' It started with her commenting as I passed by - "I wonder where the barista is?" I replied that maybe it was a quick break time and he/she will be back and asked her if it was good coffee? Yes, very she said. I thanked her for the information saying I will get a coffee when I finish grocery shopping and wish her a happy day. She wished the same for me and with a cheery goodbye our conversation ended. I will probably never see her again.
The encounter made me feel good. It was easy to smile to fellow customers in the supermarket. We are all in this together all connected at this present time. We may as well make everyday a happy one for us and for others who pass our way.

Happy day everyone, keep smiling
Cheers and Blessings

Picking flowers from my shrubs brings me joy.

Blessing Angie. Lovely photo and Smile. 😊 I find the same here that in passing strangers will smile and say hi or g’day.
The public parks were open today in Halifax. Took a bike ride through Point Pleasant Park and people seemed ready to talk your ear off during rest stops, poor souls, having been locked up for so long. 🤓
Hi @novacadian, we are such social beings aren't we? I can understand the 'talking' deprivation so many must be feeling. I usually phone someone everyday just to check on how they are going and for a chat.
Good the parks are open and you are getting out on your bike @novacadian. This pandemic has brought us closer together. I was at the grocery store and a lady I didn't know started talking to me, although we stood 6 feet apart.
So very nice that it is a world-wide trend. We are all the same aren't we Jo? - just wanting to connect. Blessings to you @redheadpie.
That's the right attitude! Stay safe!
I always find if I smile I get a smile back even when I am not purposely doing it. 😍
You are a very beautiful lady. And I loved reading your post! That's right we are all in the same boat, the coronavirus changed our lives, but we should not change this for the worse. With being kind, perhaps we brighten someone's day ... Reading to you makes my days the best. Thanks to all of you I feel like we are a big happy family😊💕
I love the connection of Hive, it is so nice to talk. And I love making new friends, thank you for being one of them.💜
@angiemitchell Being in Hive makes me forget about everything else. Everyone here is great and that's wonderful. Hive is like my job because with what I do here I use it to buy food and support my mom. But besides that I have wonderful friends like you. That make me want to always come back
Nice smile. Keep shinning...
Thank you @khalidniazi, I will do my best.
