Why can't I wait till tomorrow to do it? this week is already gone, maybe i should just round it up next week. This is called procrastination; postponing what can be done immediately to another time is procrastination, why delay when it can be done now.
People usually say yesterday is gone, today is your raw cash, and tomorrow might never be.
There is this particular man in my neighborhood, his story increased my urge to write something on this topic.
He was a retired worker, in a private company. His retirement came to past only because he had cancer and had some time range to live. His wife already late and he has two children, oldest should be around 17/18 years. He was told by the company he worked for to come and sign the necessary documents he needs to collect this retirement fee. The man calculating the amount of time he has, from what the doctor said made him thought he could always go for the documents later, he kept procrastinating.
Then one morning we heard he is no more, he didn't even use the one quarter of the time the doctors predicted he has to live. Now he's dead and left his two kids unprepared.
Even though the retirement fee was later collected by someone who knew about it and don't want the children to suffer, it was done with so much stress and time. Nothing would have cost that man to just go and do the necessary thing in time.
Procrastination is the root of failure, and indolence is the root of misfortune, whatever we do today can never be the same tomorrow, cause tomorrow might be late.
