People don't actually know what the earth does to protect all living creatures from death or even extinction, we should all actually be grateful that we'v got a planet to protect us, I will put you through some of the benefits we derived from the Rotation of the Earth on its axis.
FIRSTLY
The rotation of the Earth on its axis creates an ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS which is our greatest defence system, so if the Earth should stop its rotation we are going to loose our greatest defence system which protects us from direct sun rays, solar flares and radiation caused by the SUN, if the magnetic fields is no longer there, we will be exposed to the SUN
SECONDLY
The rotation of the earth on its axis creates the existence of THE EARTH GRAVITATIONAL FORCE, without the earth gravitational force, I cant begin to explain what is going to happen to all living creatures on earth, and of course the oceans also, there will be flood everywhere, there will also be heavy wind blow which could lead to tornadoes and many more natural disasters.
THIRDLY
It is known for the rotation of the Earth that causes SUNRISE AND SUNSET, normally it takes the Earth 24hrs for the Earth to complete it's rotation on it's axis which makes it a day, without the Earth rotation on its axis, its going to take a very long time to complete a day, which will cause a lot of damage, each half of the Earth will be at day and night respectively the direct sun rays, solar flares and the sun radiation for a very long time at one half and also along a long cold night at the other half.
