It's yet another beautiful day, and the beginning of another week; it's Sunday and I do hope you all do make it to worship today 😁. And for those who won't be going, I wish you all a beautiful and fruitful day.
Just before I make it to service today, I want to redirect us on something most people don't attach value to. Every day of our lives, we experience blessings in so many ways but ignore one of the factors that speed up the blessings we receive on a daily basis is gratitude.
gratitude is the state of recognizing a source of pleasure; the act of appreciation or being thankful.
In our daily pursuits, most people forget to carry out this key capsule that takes nothing from us. Take this little exercise;
Have you ever been in a situation where you did something for someone and the person said a simple thank you? And have you been in a position where the individual didn't?. How was your reaction at different occasions.
Now, if you went with the former, you will realize it would bring a feeling of satisfaction and joy knowing youur efforts is being appreciated and you would be pushed to do more. But if the latter is the case, you would be angry that it wasn't acknowledged and might probably agree not to help the said individual anymore.
Being grateful for every little thing that comes our way is a strong push to receive more. Even when you get something from someone and the individual does beyond or below your expectations, say thank you; caring alone is enough to be grateful for.
Most of us can't say thank you or be grateful to one for something except it is in a paycheck. There is more to life than paychecks. Let's not select the things we want to appreciate. The Bible even pupports this saying when it recorded in
Philippians 4:6 KJV
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Note it said, in everything, be grateful. Which means when the going is good or bad, when it is easy and difficult, when you feel up to it and when you don't; be grateful.
Gratitude makes more blessings come our way. When we are faithful or appreciative of the little we have or have received, it motivates one to give more and by extension you receive and are rewarded more.
May you be thankful for every little thing that happens every single day in your life... Amen.
