Is China Really The Leader of Green Energy?

Global Warming is a global threat to the survival of all species living on this planet. And Now that a 147 countries have agreed to the Paris Climate Accord, great efforts are being made to rectify the problem and prevent further damage to the environment. But a recent withdrawal proposal by the world's largest polluter 'United States' has caused doubt in the many world leaders. This has led to a massive backlash by other member countries who have raised their voice further supporting the Paris Climate Agreement and have threatened the US from economic and diplomatic problems that might ensue from this. Most countries have started massive green energy programs increasing their Solar, wind and other renewable energy production. China in particular is spending more than a 700 Billion dollars setting up plants and replacing the existing coal and natural gas infrastructure. China has also been investing billion developing similar infrastructure in other countries either through private companies or by debt. A country who has enough coal and natural gas reserves to sustain its energy requirements, China has been going the green way, which something US could learn from.

The Chart below is indicative of the leaps and bounds growth in the renewable Energy sector in China:

I am hopeful that innovations will lead to a near future where its a no brainer economically for using renewable/green energy.

Yeah, but unfortunately Its become a political issue which countries could fight over which could end up being disastrous for the entire world.

Nice. How about the development 2012-2016?

Maybe there are no numbers for that period?

I'll have to find that one out. Maybe in the next article :)
