It's a Rainy but Beautiful Day in North Italy - Little Leonardo the Lion is a Week Old

in #happy7 years ago

I've spent the last week imersed in my new life as a Dad. I'm feeling much more confident now with Leo, he's being such a good boy for now. He doesn't cry much, but I think that's because Mum is at the ready with milk when he needs it, and he seems to enjoy it a lot.

@irelandscape made an amazing Piano composition dedicated to his boys which I have played to Leo quite a few times, it seems to calm him down, so it's been quite a useful thing so far. Also when he was in the belly I would call him "little Leo" with a deep voice so it resonated, and the odd time he cries this seems to calm him down too, which is cute. He recognises daddies voice.

A funny thing happened yesterday though, we were in the middle of changing him,but maybe we did it a bit too soon. His mum was right in the firing line as he decided to make a powerful squirty poo hahaha, and it went all over his Mum, trust me it was hilarious I was in tears laughing at it, while his mum was heaving and nearly sick ahaha.

He's started to smile now, i'm sure it's just random smiles at the moment but he's developing the neuron connections it seems and hopefully soon he will smile when he is happy.

This is me and Leo today having a little cuddle on his "week Birthday". I'm going to keep this picture in my wallet, it's going to be my life saver when I go back to University in a few weeks.

I genuinely thought that it wouldn't be so hard to leave him when I go back, but as days go by I'm starting feel sick about it. The thought that keeps my sane is that I am going back to finish off my work and thesis, and then I'll be done and have a masters in Physics, I'm on course to take 110/110 for my degree which is obviously first class. So when Igo back I will work my butt off and make sure to take that 110, then it's either a PhD working in collaboration with ESA working on propulsion systems, or going into work.

I've taken a break from writing nearly everyday for @steemstem, but that's ok, I'll keep developing new ideas over the weeks and then I should be armed with some cool new material.

Summer is about to arrive and I want to start training again, I am a green belt in Karate and must take my blue exam in the summer, after that it's brown then black. I am looking forward to teaching little Leo, mainly for the discipline and for the meditative side of it. I do karate for peaceful purposes, and this way it is easy to stay in harmony with the self but having knowledge that I can look after things if shite hits the fan

Life is great at the moment. Tonight my GF's cousin arrives and he' pretty cool, so I'm looking forward to having a beer with him celebrating little Leo's arrival.

That's all for now folks, I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about @physics.benjamin, it's not often I write about my life.

Have a beautiful day who ever you are and where ever you are. Much Love....

Benjamin

Oh and if anyone is curious, the picture is of a place called Vittorio Veneto, it's a lovely place close to the mountains. Strange weather but a beautiful small city.

nice picture of nature, i wish you are enjoying your time you and leo :) and i wish you a good luck with training karate and with your masters in physics

Thanka dude. Very kind of you, I appreciate your support. Good luck to you also :D
