Healthy gums are strong, supple and light pink in color. Healthy gums also seal seamlessly on each tooth, as tight as an elastic to bite you and pass invisibly into the mucous membranes of your mouth.

Symptoms of gum problems

If the health or condition of your gums fails, gums and gums occur. The best known symptoms of gum problems are:

  • Tooth and toothache
  • Dental meat is sensitive , red & painful
  • Swelling , withdrawal and bleeding of gums
  • Swollen lymph nodes in the neck
  • Swollen jaw & face

Causes of gum problems

Problems with your gums can arise for a variety of reasons. The most common and common causes of gum problems are:

  • Bacterial gum inflammation
  • Tooth decay or tooth rot ( caries )
  • Impact of irritants (preservatives, foaming agents, etc.) on the gums
  • Inflammation of jawbone / jawbone, denture (denture), dental bone (dentine), carrot (parodontium), tooth root (radix), root tip (apex) tooth marrow (pulpa) or tooth nerve
  • Ectopicitis (bacteria in the jaw cavity)
  • Abscess in the soft tissue jaw (jaw inflammation)
  • Lack of space for teeth ( "crowding")
  • Fistula or abscess in the mouth
  • Evening

Underlying cause = dental plaque

In most cases of gum problems, dental plaque is the root cause. Toothpaste is formed as foodstuffs, bacteria, mucus and enzymes clumping into a sticky substance. We also call this substance plaque or paste. Toothpaste has the same color as your teeth, which usually makes you uncomfortable. Tooth plaque is everywhere: on your teeth, between your teeth, on your tongue, in the cheek and gums, and so forth.

Toothbrush can be removed easily with toothbrushes, flosses, dental carriers, tongue scrapers and antibacterial mouthwash. However, if your mouth is insufficiently clean, bacterial dental plaque remains. Remaining toothpaste will eventually calcine under the influence of the minerals in your saliva. Hardened toothpaste is also called toothbrush ...

Toothpaste & Toothbrush Between Your Teeth & Gums

If bacteria settle on the border between your tooth surface and gum, your gums will irritate or lightly ignite. This causes the gum to slightly swell and creates a small space between teeth and gums. In this space, a dental plaque nourishes and eventually tartar develops.

Soft toothpaste or hard tartar in your "toothpockets" causes guaranteed gums! The accumulation of dental plaque, tartar and bacteria is getting bigger and thus the width and depth of the pocket. An initial toothpocket is characterized by superficial gum inflammation, but as more bacteria accumulate, the infection can skip on deeper tissues.

Treat and solve dental problems

In the case of onset and mild gums, you do not need to go to the dentist immediately. Thus self-sufficiency is usually sufficient for irritation, redness and mild swelling of the gums . Usually, the use of simple thighs is sufficient to remedy this type of gum problem. With the following tips, you can give your gums self-cleaning an extra cleaning and care session:

  • Several times thoroughly brush your teeth
  • Massage your gums daily
  • Regularly rinse with z out water (physiological saline)
  • Warm camilla tea (drink or rinse)
  • Twice a year dental check with the dentist
  • Use an antibacterial oral cleanser with chlorhexidine or triclosan (PerioAid® Meridol® et al.)
  • Daily flosses and / or tearing between the individual teeth
  • Clean your tongue with tongue scraper or tongue cleaner every day

Caution: In case of prolonged, painful and / or advanced gums, go to the dentist as soon as possible!

Finally

Dental problems such as space shortage, evening and irritation due to aggressive substances are logically not the (direct) consequence of bacteria. Nevertheless, bacteria and dental plaque are the most common cause of gums in general.

At the drugstore and pharmacy, all kinds of drugs and medicines are available to treat painful gums and other initial gums caused by bacteria. If your gums do not get within a few days, please contact your dentist.
