Rest when you need to rest | Japan Overwork problem

in #health6 years ago

Don't overwork yourself, productivity comes requires a clear mind and focus to be efficient. So if you got a lot of work ahead of you, rest for a bit. Put you're head down on the table and rest your eyes and mind because it is essential to conserve brain power when we need it for mental stress work.

Most people overwork themselves too much and such is the case in Japan, where overworking is leading to deaths. It's unbelievable, that we are living in a world where working too hard will kill you. So recently, the government put out a 100 hour cap to limit the problem, however critics have slammed this legislation down saying that it will do nothing and rates of stroke, suicide and heart attacks will continue to rise.

Being a workaholic is bad thing, just like being a alcholic, in fact any type of the addiction bad for the human body, because it make's you reliant upon something else besides your own body. Drugs make you reliant upon on external stimulants that help make you feel relaxed and okay, but how about the internal stimulants you're body produces when you relax or go to sleep?

A power nap for like 10 minutes is better than working in those 10 minutes and feeling tired as hell, you'll be more prone to make mistakes, which will further agitate you or fustrate you. All these things have a negative impact on the brain, which leads to poor performance at work or any other activity.

You are stopping yourself from doing the best

Therefore take a rest my friend, the work will not go anywhere. But to make sure that you do well and you're health or wellbeing are taken into account, just have a small amount of rest to ensure that when you wake back up. You have enough energy to be motivated and drive forward in your task or activity

Good day, and this is @moarafatshow signing off!

I hear you. Since I'm living in Japan too I feel after some years I got a little understanding of their thinking and motivations. Although I'm still struggling to get a lot of things going on here.

Working hard and not complaining about it is deeply rooted in most Japanese minds. The company often replaces the family if it comes down which place you actually should devote yourself to more. Social pressure from colleagues or the whole environment also play a big role why many Japanese are not able to rest or take some real vacation.

Good article, a little fish is leaving a big upvote 🐟

Good post, there are many aspects to this, including the very high social pressure to perform in Japan.

How does one perform better or more than his peers ? by working more hours and producing more. Eventually, people burn out.

It is similar pressure that sadly drives suicides rates high among students.

I think the suicide rate in students equates to family pressure and financial burden being put on kids, at an early stage to succeed to uplift families from poverty.
People forget that quantity over quality will sometimes never work, you must use your creativity to reduce the number of hours, whilst performing in an optimal condition. Something that the Japanese corporate culture hasn't accepted yet.

Overworking isn't a good deal, consider your health first.

This is very true. The mantra of working hard to make ends meet just doesnt help matters at times. very enlightening post. Thanks

It’s suicide, and in Japan unless the cost of living high, I don’t see the reason to work 159 hours a week.

over working and too busy life badly damage our health .... Health is wealth we should take care of our health....

Couldn't have said it better!

we are unproductive when we are tired, in japan most people are workaholic and has had severe implications on their country, its been blamed for the low birth rate cause most people are too tired to have sex

Much work less rest can cause sudden death(at high risk).

faultless, follow up

I am overworking in Steemit. 😅

The reason is because I am new, still learning a lot. My plan is to slow down, find a pattern.

Now worries I am also guilty of that. It’s really stressful when you are beginner just getting started.

Great post. The place of rest in our lives is really important. I think there are some un-noticed reasons why some people over work themselves, some could be problems at home, and others could be threat of a sack, etc.I believe that there should be a body set up, to handle the issues around over working. Those who need psychological help will be attended to, and those who are intimidated into overworking can also be helped legally. This is an issue that requires serious attention, especially by the government, not just in Japan alone but in all countries of the world
