Nutritionists and health specialists argue that a good breakfast can help you boost your energy, increase your attention span, and help you lose weight. Experts say that a good breakfast can help both children and adults be less irritable, more efficient at work, and more energetic. Those who advocate a good breakfast contend that a good breakfast provides at least one-third of the day’s calories. The prescriptions for a good breakfast include: a wholegrain cereal, wholegrain bread, and fresh fruits. These are, they contend, energy generating food items.

Is breakfast really necessary?

Highly active and mobile people see breakfast as a waste of time. They want to be out early and prefer grabbing hamburger and chips, from fast food corners along the road side when they are completely out of energy. Reading all what experts in this field had to say, the conclusion is that if you do not take breakfast you are likely to eat heavy food late in the night. The consequence is you wake up heavy and sometimes uncomfortable.
Another reason why people avoid breakfast seems to be the quest to control weight. The results of the studies I have read shows that omission of breakfast is no advantage in weight reduction. It is actually disadvantage in that those who omit breakfast accentuate their hunger and eat more snacks and munch here and there during the day to keep up their energy. Thus, rather than losing weight, these petty munching’s are likely to build up your weight than reduce. We are persuaded that we need to breakfast every morning no matter how small the content. Breakfast time is also a good opportunity for family members to meet before dispersing to different Daily activities. Breakfast time is family time. It is the time spouses unconsciously review their family plan and career problems. It is good for you and the family at large. A good breakfast will help control your emotions, and thus you will be less tempted to cheat on your diet by snacking.
