WHY SALT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE BODY

In order to maintain the body fluids in the right manner,salt is very essential.Also the salt that is procured from the sea has various minerals that is essential for the human body.

TWO TYPES OF SALT

1.refined salt(sodium salt)=the salt is made out of sodium salt and extracted from sea water
2.natural salt(solar salt)=the salt produced by evaporating the sea water or digging out of salt rocks

The salt is made out of sea water has magnesium,calcium,iron,zinc,potassium etc.along with sodium,and these are called minerals and are vital for human body.The minerals cannot be exactly created inside the human body naturally,that is why it is procured from the food.

HOW MINERALS ARE OBTAINED FROM SALTY PRODUCTS

  1. The minerals in the rocks and soils melts into the ground water over a period of time and they are carried to the sea through the rivers
  2. The sea water evaporates and falls down as rain and melts down the minerals
  3. during the circulation lots of minerals eventually reach the sea water

FUNCTION OF MINERALS

Minerals are inevitable nutrients for you to grow and exercise.

1.if there is no mineral there is no way that the body can convert the nutrition that is absorbed into energy
2.minerals have a very important duty of regulating the conditions of the body

LETS TAKE DIFFERENT TYPES OF MINERALS

  1. Iron=iron is needed inside the red blood cells of the blood and helps in carrying the oxygen around ,the daily requirement of iron is about 10 mg
    2.Zinc=zinc is required to repair and create new cells in the body,the daily requirement of zinc in the body is 8 mg,when there is deficiency of zinc,the cells that recognizes the taste will not function well and there will be taste disorder
    3.calcium=bones and teeth are made up of calcium and protein,daily requirement of calcium is about 700 mg

WHY SALT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE BODY

  1. As far as your body is concerned,salt plays a very important role.it is important to consume right quantity of it every day
  2. Every day salt leaves the body in the form of urine and sweat
    3.If you pass about 1.5 liters of urine a day ,about 10 gm of salt leaves the body.similarly if you sweat about 1 liter you lose about 5gm of salt
  3. If we take lots of water without salt ,the salt in the body will reduce
  4. When the salt content in the body is deficient for a long time,the secretion of the digestive juices will reduce and appetite can also go down causing tiredness.
