[Article] Chiropracters Deserve MUCH More Respect! How An Expert Helped Me Fix Spinal Injury (Double Whiplash) After Years of Disability.

in #health7 years ago (edited)

I wrote a while back on how emotional processing played a huge part in me healing my spine. The other very important part of the process was finding a great chiropracter here in England - by combining his skills and understandings, with my own intentions and related understandings, my spine is now almost completely corrected and I have gone from being suicidal a few years ago, to feeling good and being happy!

A Car Accident, The World's Loudest Sound System and A Rape Alarm!

My problems really started around 2002, when I experienced three traumas to my head/neck/spine/jaw/ear in the space of about a month. Firstly I attended a music event where the drum and bass DJ Dillinja was playing with (at that time) the world's loudest soundsystem (The valve system) and I didn't have ear protection. They were meant to give out ear buds to limit the damage done to hearing, but they didn't and something 'broke' in my right ear - leaving me collapsed on the floor in agony. I couldn't hear much at all for about 12 hours and my hearing never fully recovered... This was a catastrophe for me as I was starting working on my first music album - which I had worked up to over 4 years of practice and learning in the studio. This trauma caused my neck, jaw and ear area to be contracted and imbalanced.

Next up, I went to Amsterdam for a weekend with some friends and a 'random' guy with his face masked, fired a rape alarm in the same right ear that I had previously damaged! I was in shock and came very close to attacking him out of self defense - but clarity prevailed and I just moved away. The high frequency of the rape alarm multiplied the damage done to my hearing - I was not happy.

Then, the finale - a few weeks later, I was driving home from my workplace at that time - via London's circular motorway, the M25 and I had a serious car crash. I truck that was moving at over 60MPH hit my stationary (due to heavy traffic) car from behind and pushed me into the car in front. I had about 2 seconds where I saw the truck approaching from behind in the mirror and was sure I would die there and then. Miraculously, although my car was squashed, the driver door just opened and I was able to escape with just minor scratches. However, as I was to learn - whiplash injuries and emotional traumas are likely to get worse over time.

Gradual disability

Initially, I saw a physiotherapist as part of the insurance claim and she really did nothing to help me and if anything, made my pain worse. My neck was a bit stiff and hurt, but I had no real analysis done on it to find out exactly what the causes of the issues were.

After a year or so of little improvement (and seeing a neurologist and other 'specialists'), I found a good naturopath and osteopath in London, who did spinal manipulation for me and who increased the mobility in my spine. It was a great relief, but it was costly and the success was limited. It reached the point where I detected a vertebra in my shoulder area that was sticking out (obviously to me) and which I could feel was definitely not in the right place - and unfortunately, the osteopath said this was 'normal'. At that point I decided to stop attending her sessions as I could see I needed more knowledgeable assistance.

Unfortunately, I gradually lost ability to work, think, act and 'earn money' - so I also lost the ability to get the help I needed. At one point I can remember that I couldn't turn my head left or right and had to turn my whole body to look left/right. I was sleeping with a special pillow that just about made sleep possible and I was a mess on all levels.

Finding a Chiropracter

I was putting a lot of time into learning about healing, due to me having already had success using the emotional processing methods that were channelled in the 'right use of will' book series - I highly recommend these to everyone. In the course of my research and work, I had learned that chiropracters are not the same as osteopaths (chiropracters typically have a greater level of education and a different approach to care). I had also found Dr. John Bergman on Youtube, who had really deeply impressed me with his understanding of holistic health and his ability to help 'incurable' illnesses heal through spinal adjustment and nutritional/lifestyle changes. He also openly calls the majority of the 'medical' and 'science' industries negligent and criminal - my kind of guy! He has over 20 years of teaching experience and is an expert in anatomy - he is someone who other doctors visit to learn from.

About a year ago I decided to look around locally for chiropracters and found one who I gelled well with - he is anti-drug, moves like a ninja and has a deep philosophical approach to healing which respects the complex interactions and layers that are present within an injured and healing body system. He told me he could definitely help me, but not to expect rapid change - however, since I already knew that the emotional processing that I use dramatically accelerates healing on all levels, I was confident that he would be surprised at how quickly I healed.

Electro-Myography!

One of the great things about my chiropracter is that he uses a scanning system which measures the electrical activity and heat in each vertebra of the spine, to get a snapshot of how much tension is present in the spine. This means that over time, he can assess how much improvement there has been and which areas need attention. Here's the first scan result he did for me, one year ago:

scan 1

Initially I attended twice a week for emergency treatment, then once per week, then once per two weeks, then once every three weeks and now once per month. The very first session was really amazing, there were a couple of loud 'cracks' as he adjusted my spine and my motility in my neck increased by about 50% - it was really such a relief.

Every session since then has brought some improvement and I have learned to listen more carefully to my body's needs and messages - so I can provide him with direct feedback and he can more easily target the areas that need help. He usually pinpoints the exact area anyway, without me saying anything at all - in a matter of seconds!

Here's my latest scan with the Electro-Myagram system (sEMG) - taken after about 1 year of adjustments:

scan 2

The idea is that a near perfect spine will only have green bars - denoting correct temperature and electical activity for a peacful and balanced body. As you can see, in my case, I started out with every vertebra being out of alignment and I felt really stiff, with a lot of pain and stress. It was the kind of stress that effected all levels of my being - I could not move well and my thoughts were fuzzy and limited.

After 1 year, my upper spine is almost perfect, with just some pain in my right ear/jaw area - probably about 10% of the pain level I experienced to begin with. My lower back can be improved too, but I feel that just by doing yoga and more exercise I will resolve that issue.

My chiropracter has said that my spine is medically 90-95% corrected and that I now need to work more on my emotional layers to resolve the issues with my jaw - which brings me back to the initial trigger traumas and other stressors that may be involved there.

Chiropracters are MASSIVELY undervalued

As my regular readers will know, I have put a lot of time into researching and exposing the corruption in society and I often focus into the 'medical industry'. I can easily show many cases where these industries have deliberately exploited sick people for profit and that they pay to warp 'science' at every opportunity. The result has been a large number of people trust these 'confidence tricksters' with their health and they are also brainwashed into reacting with blind faith in the medical industry to anyone who suggests an 'alterative'. The reality is that chiropracters undergo 4 years of intense training in human anatomy - vs. what might only amount to a few days of such training for a standard MD/GP. While standard MDs/GPs specialise typically more in drug prescriptions that only deal with suppressing symptoms and which generate huge profits for the companies involved, chiropracters typically reject all drugs because they understand that the root causes of dysfunction cannot be corrected with drugs, period.

The result has been that chiropracters are often put down as if they are sub-standard doctors, whereas in my experience and according to the evidence I have seen, the reality is the opposite. The pharmaceutical industry and their cronies know very well that chiropractic care and related fields are a potent tool in creating real health and as such waste no opportunity in their PR campaigns to covertly degrade the reputation and perception of chiropracters.

The deep understanding of the body and attention to detail that is needed when directly adjusting the spines of patients (and other parts) means that chiropracters have a direct, hands-on FELT connection with their patients that is typically missing from mainstream 'medical care' and this makes a huge difference. It is through feeling that we can attune to the deepest realities of our body's health and experience - yet the more 'thought' based western systems of medicine often deny this completely - thankfully this is changing and will be totally revolutionised in the coming years.

I feel strongly that if more of us knew the truth of the situation here, there would be many more people training to be chiropracters and I would have actually possibly been one myself if I had known all this as a teenager.

Videos

There are lots of chiropracters around and they all have slightly different outlooks, methods and philosophies - but one of the best known and possibly most successful today is Dr. John Bergman and he has tirelessly been putting out video after video on youtube for years. If you have a health concern he will probably have a video that talks about it and will provide some scientific studies to back up his comments. Here's a couple of brief intro videos for him - but you can find many more on his youtube channel:

Just read your linked post about how releasing those emotions saved you. Good stuff. Resteeming this one.

I have worked with many people in the last 10+ years in the field of emotional healing - it is to me the absolute missing link for us!
Thanks for your support - I upvoted and resteemed your fakebooc banning post. Controversy approved! :)

A really great story. Thank you for sharing.
I too have had years of work to fix issues with my spine.
Your story has so many great recommendations and I know for sure I need to find a competent Chiropractor. I'm glad you brought up Yoga but something else to consider is using Cannabis for pain reduction and muscle relaxation.

Highest regards @ura-soul and Steem On!

Thanks for your comment. While cannabis can help in some senses, it can also mute some of the internal messages that we need to be aware of if we are fully listening to our body. Magnesium is a better way to create relaxation (so good it is used in emergency rooms for heart attacks and strokes) - you can use epsom salts in the bath for that. I certainly recommend cannabis over synthetic drugs for pain relief though - as it is far less toxic.

If you are still dealing with issues I highly recommend reading the post I linked about my experience of healing my spine through emotional expression - the stuck vertebra in-between my shoulders was corrected instantly by screaming and crying without any control for a few minutes.

Cathartic expression is a very good way to address healing.
Thank you for getting back to me.
Kind Regards!

now I can behind you 100% on everything you said in this post.

Well done, and how I need a Chiropractor again.

A previous girlfriends grandfather was a chiropractor and did me a few treatments at the time.

but they didn't last twenty years.

Thanks! I am finding that just going and getting adjustments isn't enough, I need to carefully listen to my body's real needs and respond in real time. Typically that means resting until needed for processes to complete and exercising where needed to gain strength and adjust tensions. Detoxing and other health activities go a long way too. Wishing you well!

thanks, I am afraid I am still caught up in an abusive cycle of no rest and no relief.

I have to get that changed
and I haven't seen any type of health professional for years, but would really like to see an intelligent and sympathetic one, such as a good chiropractor, or even a functional medicine trained doctor.

Also wishing you well with your healing journey

I agree they are so undervalued!

Everybody thinks their chiropractor is the best! ;-)
That's really cool actually.. and it's fascinating how many different theories of chiropractic there are. At least a dozen or more; some are very original to each practitioner after years of study and experience.
I have seen the same chiro for 20 years. He has me doing stretches, excersizes and they keep me limber and pain free.
My brother sees a guy that actually has a stretching table (!) and he does something like traction, and it pulls all the spin apart, releases the tension. I think over last 20 years, I have shrank while he maintains his height well, so maybe there is something to it; he swears by it, so I may try it..

Great article; this is a home run, thanks. Great subject too; I'll publish on this sometime when I know more.

I agree with you @ura-soul, that chiropractors are indeed undervalued. I'm seeing a chiropractor too for my lower back issues and I must say although progress won't be visible or felt after a single session, it is the accumulation of adjustments that bring about the change and improvement. Hope that your spinal issues continue to improve!

Thanks, I wish you well too. In my case, the greatest improvement was noticed after the first session - but every case is unique.
