Welcome back to my DTube Hebrew reading & language series.
The full study is now on line covering the Alef-Beyt here in my blog. This is a beginners program to teach letters, vowels, and reading. The vowels are marked in this bible and are designed to help avoid confusion on what a word is and how it is pronounced. The confusion is obvious in the hundreds of interpretations globally. In modern Hebrew, only children need a niqqud or vowel marking for each letter. Old manuscripts also usually have vowels marked.
This week covers Genesis 1:23-25.
This week's reading is from Genesis 1:26-28 and God(plural), "he" said let "us" make "adam" in "our" own image. No comment on this soup of mixed plural/singular verbage. There are plenty of volumes written about the meaning of "Elohim" and "elohim". Yes,it does say "let us make adam in our own image". Let's read the verses and then go back and interpret each and learn how the word order changes to bring the verse into English.
Today brings more pieces of the puzzle that is each word. We look at how the owner of each thing (noun), or receiver of each action (verb) is built into the word. If you have been following along, you have seen that we attach and, in, over, and the at the beginning of words. We are now learning our and us can be attached at the end which is new. [green boxes]
Many other words are marked above as a review. You see that prepositions (in, on, over, etc.) are marked but are not translated one for one as explained in earlier lessons. For review, I have marked the words and, so, and the with colored dots next to their Hebrew equals.
More explanations.
I am putting more detail into the videos My intention was to identify the vowels in each word and their sounds. Then say the word drawing the order in which to join every letter and vowel. Then say the word fluently.
For now I am ignoring cantillation marks and other notations. We can concentrate on intonation after you are reading! The definitions are all there and the word order is something you will get used to when you are able to read and compare verses. The ability to learn on your own is one of my goals for you.

This particular line caught my attention, and I believe God who is the "He" in the content of the above scripture said let us make Adam in "OUR" own image, I believe the our there,he was referring to Himself as God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit and he made man purely out of their image so man is exactly like what dey look like.
Thank you sir @hebrew for yet another wonderful insight into the word of God and thanks for always keeping us in close contact with God by bringing his word to us on the regular bases. The hebrew language is really a great, ancient and beautiful language.
That is one of he doctrines they like to teach on this passage. It does not fit the belief system of the children of Israel (jews) because they know God as the one whose voice thundered down from mount Sinai. They expect a mashiach, or someone like David. The anointed of God.
What that person would look like is in the minds of those expecting him. If he were to say he was from God and one with God, what would they do to him today?
All good questions.
Thank you much for this explanation. That doctrine does contradict with Proverbs 8:22-31
From the Aramaic Book of Daniel (7:13-14) we know that there is a Divine “Son of Man” .... Bar Enosh ... who we are to Worship .... in the Mystical Jewish Tradition of Enoch he is called the “Small Face of YHVh”
According to the Rashi Commentary.... This “Son of Man “is King Messiah.

one like a Son of Man was coming: That is the King Messiah.
This “Kim Messiah / Son of Man” was there with Elohim and created Adam.

I really like the way you teach us word by word, i'm following from a while, you are good sir,
Thank you for teaching us @hebrew, God bless you.
excellent, a very complicated language, but when you follow each publication every Friday, you make me easier to understand, thanks for continuing to teach us teacher @ Hebrew
Genesis ends with Israel in Egypt, ready for the coming of Moses and the Exodus. The narrative is punctuated by a series of covenants with God, successively narrowing in scope from all mankind (the covenant with Noah) to a special relationship with one people alone (Abraham and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob).
peculiarity of this verb is that it is always used with God as its subject, meaning that only God can "bara"; it is the characteristic verb for God's creative activity in Genesis 1.
Thanks @hebrew sir for sharing this post. ☺💙
Hebrew is a oldest and beautiful langauage and when its comes from an expert like you its very interesting to learn and easy to understand...The sound rule of Hebrew is quite different but once we learn we can pronounce others language words more fluently due to practice of Hebrew Prounciation...Its not easy to learn but not even hard if I have some one like you to teach...It was very helpful for learning and am still trying to learn it....Keep on posting and teaching us @hebrew
This definitely adds a little context to the way I was told the exodus story, I can’t wait to have a greater understanding of more of the text.
I’m always curious about hebrew language its interesting and unique language which is quite famous too.now I found you I’m really thanks that I’m learning hebrew language from you.keep following you and learning from you.

Indeed a very useful stuff. I can't believe that someone spare his time for Mankind without any curse. Now a days time is very important thing which can not be given anyone without any benefit. But you proved @hebrew that in this world there are few humans available who are doing this service for common people to facilitate the. Anyways always keep smiling and Stay Blessed!
Your age is very long, I was remembering you some minutes ago . Shabbat shalom

Hebrew is such a great language!!!Thanks for sharing.
It is valuable and very useful ancient language.Upvote Resteem
I'll admit that I haven't learned a language yet that is symbol-based, so it's a little difficult for me to pick it up, but some of the things I'm starting to recognize as having seen before. If nothing else, I appreciate the chance to learn more about the word and how it was written. Sometimes it can be easy to skim over verses as I've probably heard or read them many times. It's nice to get a difference translation/interpretation to get a different, sometimes clearer explanation or understanding of the meaning.
I don't know if you've heard of The Passion Translation, but that's one that was just gifted to me by a good friend. I already had the Passion translation of Song of Songs, but this is the whole New Testament plus Song of Songs, Psalms, and Proverbs. I like how the translation is so passionate. The interpreters did a good job of communicating (I believe) the heart of God through the words.
Having a clear understanding of His heart has been needed for me recently as the last month plus has been very trying for my family. I won't get into the issues, but having a clear idea of who you are and whose you are is helpful in the tough times. Knowing God's heart for me helps me know where I stand with Him. Also, good friends and family encouraging help too!
I agree that most interpretations are well done and they do represent the heart of the Father. I see many of the stories being difficult to mess up. There are parables that anyone who wants to can understand. Most gripping, as a father myself, is that of Job. It starts with the Father boasting about his "servant Job" talking about how upright he is, then the trials that were allowed to fall upon him, then God speaking directly to him with 80 plus questions like, "Can you put a hook in leviathan's jaw?"
I watch my young teens do incredibly stupid things, yet they mean no harm. I still see them as good kids and boast about them. However, when I see them doing something that will result in harm, I draw the line and put a stop to it. Other times, I simply redirect them so that they can learn from their mistakes.
God is a loving Father - His word directs us. . .
It sounds like you're a really good father. You watch over your children so they don't get into too much trouble, but you let them make mistakes so they can learn.
I've been doing this a while, but sometimes I still think that God must consider me like a child with some of the stunts that I pull. He probably scratches His head and says, "I don't know. I'm all all-knowing God, but I just don't know." Ha ha. He's loving and patient though, so even when we make mistakes, He welcomes us back. I like that part a lot. The important part isn't the lack of mistakes, but instead it's that when we make mistakes that we own up to them, ask for forgiveness, and try to learn from them as we walk away from the mistakes. And if we mess up again, we just get to try again.
yes you are doing a hard and amazing work by teaching us the ancient language hebrew i feel so glad to learn another amazing language. i hope you will get more new things on it in future @hebrew

A weekly greatly valued lesson of Hebrew. It is definitely useful to understand the bible better and have a few words standby if we ever visit Israel. It is really one of the favourite place for visit by my church where each year we have organised many trips and it is still very popular with high subscription for the Israel tour to see and experience the different bible histories at different places of Israel. Thanks for your continual effort in this!
Like Assad in Syria, they have been tolerant of all religions and allowed all to worship as they like. I hope to visit there one day.
Most welcome to steemit sir.
