RE: The ancient language of ivrit ( עברית ) - Zayin - Vowels & Reading

My understanding is that Yeshua is a shorter name for Yehoshua (as was named Joshua who took over for Moses).

Kind of like Michael and Mike. But I know there is more to it. (looking in the Hebrew Matthew Manuscripts)

Not only that bu Messiah means Anointed. There is a verb form "to anoint" which shares the same verbal root. David was Messiah and Solomon too.

Sort:

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

What is the word used in the Matthew Manuscripts ?

I created a post just for this question - it is important and is one of the primary proofs that the B'rit Hadashah was not originally written in Greek.

Yes! The Peshitta alone proves this point. There are many copies in Syriac / aramaic. This is whay I began my study of Aramaic. But all signs point to an earlier Hebrew original.

Thank you.... I missed this when you posted. I was sleeping. Do you ever sleep ? I am here in Canada and it was 3:00 am here

Thanks. I just posted this from a blog I wrote a few years ago.... https://steemit.com/jesus/@offgridlife/if-jesus-is-god-then-why-does-he-say-my-god-my-god-why-have-your-forsaken-me

This is a painting I made for the upcoming "Jewish-Jesus" Art Exhibit in New York.
