One Thing Unpleasant in Gyeongju National Museum

in #history6 years ago

Gyeongju city was a museum itself. Whole city was under the excavation.
I could take photos of digging for excavation every where I went to

So it would be natural that there was no enough place to display the relics founded.

I was so unpleasant to see the relics were accumulated in narrow window.

Especially as seeing the golden relics and the earthenwares were displayed together unclassified in small chamber.

In the corner, the inside of tomb was reproduced, but the space was too narrow to show it’s story.

P2040124.JPG

It was all but impossible to explain about that.
That was just the accumulation of the old things.

I was so sorry to our ancestors who had made these relics of the great art.

There are more than hundreds of tombs not excavated yet.
The relics displayed in the museum were the result of the excavation in few small tomb.
If we dig more tomb, the relics might be abandoned by the street.

What made me frustrated was that this museum was build in 1975.
Year of 1975 was under the rule of military government.
The president Park Jeong Hee seized the power with military coup in 1961.

Many people including me was negative to the former president Park Jeong Hee.
But he did many things to improve the basic foundation for studying history and culture of own country.

So called Civilian political leaders had done not som much for studying history and culture.
They criticized the former president, but their achievement was less than that of Park Jeong Hee.

While looking at the museum, I was some what angry.
Of course there could be difference between the point of view on what the importance is.
But it seems that there was too much indifferences on their ancestors’ glorious historical and cultural assets.

The relics of Shilla dynasty are the treasures not only for Korea but also for the world

The most important mission of the political leader is setting the value and the justice.
Peace could be enforced with the exchange of culture and history.

So called Civilian politicians seem to think endless political struggle.

I expect the righteous job of political leaders in Korea.
After and before of taking political power must be different in my opinion.

These are amazing pictures. All of these priceless treasures! Thanks .

Amazing insights. History must be preserved at all cost. Look at this beauty.

Whenever I come across old buildings or excavation land one thing which surprises me is that our ancestors were not that simple or less advanced what we can perceive now.
They were living good lives according to their standards and they have built somethings which we can't even do now.

This is a great post about the relics in the Gyeongju National Museum. You are right that these historical objects should be secured and preserved safely; these objects are priceless and should be handled with care

Thank you so much

That’s to bad that they don’t display the relics better. At least they are not leaving them in the ground and building on top of them.

Thank you, lol

Such treasure are a must see infact Gyeongju National Museum has many priceless treasures and I only hope that security and safety will be number one there in order for future generations to see such beauties. Thank you for sharing these beauties with us @slowwalker I hope all will value and protect the treasures. Today on my post, I discussed issues relating to wants and needs including to peg or not to peg sbd-feel free to send in your suggestions which are always welcomed. I wish you more success.

Thank you for your words.

i strongly agree with you.Treasures like this allows us to appreciate our heritage and gives us the opportunity to know where we are coming from and how far we have moved. They should be cherished.

Korea is a very interesting coutry!

It seems that such historical objects must be kept and kept in good order according to their criteria ..., not to be left alone ... because it could be smuggled out of Korea ..., history as the identity of a nation ... must be maintained. .., about your concern and concern @slowwalker .. i really agree ..

Thank you so much for comment

this is a city with a very nice museum, with lots of historic stuff inside.
this is a very nice historical museum.

This is a very nice post. Thanks for sharing

Follow me @thunderland if you like my posts

Sorry to hear how unkept and and or mismanaged the museum is, maybe you should write to history departments of different universities in your country and rally them to the cause of correctly preserving, documenting and classifying all the relics found. Or start an ngo with the same cause. Sometimes we as citizens should not allow the governments to be in charge of absolutely everything, we need to play a more active role in our societies and you’ve taken the first step by writing about it here. Good luck, I do hope there is a positive change.

a good story for us to hear my friend .. and this museum is very old yes yes ... and in it really very beautiful my good friend @slowwalker

It was super nice for me, if you want to learn Korean history and also ancient societies items you can choose National Museum. You can find everything over there.

Thanks for sharing this.

These relics are important not only to Korea but the entire world, they show the rich cultural heritage of Korea, and helps in transfer of knowledge down generations. Although they are not displayed properly, it's a good thing they were not destroyed, we hope a bigger museum large enough to accommodate all relics and spacious enough to showcase their individual beauties.

Hope to visit your country someday.

Thank you so much for your comment

You're welcome, it's such a nice post

You have given us a very historic picture that is valuable to us, which holds our tradition, gives us many ideas about history. You really think a lot about world history, it seems to me that I am very happy about your post, stay in your next post.

u r right 😊

wow, looks like they found a huge pot stash.

History is the best part of culture

It's sad that they did not value those relics properly. They should be given enough space to be featured and highlighted. Each of those relics has a story to tell. Thanks for sharing this.

Korea has been on my bucket list so I'm quite interested in what you are showing in your posts.

Thank you for your dropping by.
Next posting is ....

Is.....? ^^

It's likely that they did not understand the relics importance, hence the disdain.

That's what I want to say, bro.

It's such a terrible thing all these fight and wars. I hope they take good care of these precious ancient artifacts. Thanx for sharing this information.

this is a very-very good post my friend very salute to you friend, may you success and healthy always.

Yes the post is really embellished in Korea Culture ......... Thanks for having us in mind to bring this post here today.

This is sad to watch. All of those precious relics thrown together in that small chamber. Aren't there any plans for expanding the museum in the future?

I don't think they have any plan about that

a very good post, incredible information, the greatest photography life

wow very nice photography.good hand work.

Very good post, and so important to know, many historical good, must be more appreciated!! The question is why they donot did it?

They are not interested in their own Culture and History.
They are truly interested in the Power Struggle.

I read about this a while back. Very interesting. I believe history is an important part of human existence. It allows us to observe with clear vision the success and failures of the past and learn from them. Thanks for your post. Very informative and interesting as always.

Thank you for reading

You should be happy where you are government is at least interested in preserving historic relics for future generations, they just need to improve.

Where i am from history is being lost, it is barely taught in schools and museums are currently decaying and no one is saying anything or doing anything about it.

Politicians will always be politicians, they paint others bad and paint themselves good.

I hope they find the money and the time to display these treasures properly. They look well worth it, and this just won't do.

hahaha
I hope so

That’s really disrespectful, it’s states responsibility to protect the relics and show their beauty and information to public . Hope such packed situation is recognised by government and they would be placed in good mueseum . Thanks for sharing your insights .

Thank you for your comment.
I wish Korean government hear your advice.

Wow - history is pretty cool.

What's your favourite time period to study? I think the Ancient Egyptians had a bunch of secrets that we haven't discovered yet. UfO stuff maybe 🛸😉

Thanks for your great posts 🤙

Yes, Egypt is a marvelous place.
I had been there 10 years ago, but still remember the feeling of that time

Wow!
I see a clear study of the past here
History is pretty cool indeed
Thumbs up with historical post as such

great, I love to see ur post! 😍

You're very lucky to witness all these beautiful artifacts.. Hope they'll be taken cared of and put in more appropriate containers..

Thank you for your interest

good post.
important story.

a good history of friends. thank you for sharing. I really enjoy the story in history is my friend

Oh well...i guess politicians are the same everywhere then. You value and appreciate history, it is obvious these people didn't, hence the narrow showcasing, which stifled the items from proper display, which could have narrated the story better.

This is very important ancient things.
this is so much valuable

good photography upvoter friends and restem.

jewelry that is very qualified, and suitable for kings, success for you @slowwalker

Im bery interesting About this culture,, thank you,,, its very important share,,

Interesting post thanks for sharing friends, success always make you friends ..
I upvote resteem

What a nice historical treasure it's a post nice photo.

That's kinda sad, don't you agree @slowwalker? The arrangement of their display did not give justice to the relics. For me, the arrangement is too crowded. Its just like a gift shop with so many things for sale. They forgot to highlight the most important things in their find.

Why not?
That's what I want to say

wow great post sir Good job

Everything you need to accomplish your goals is already in you, thank you for being so creative
