Found these interesting things from the past in my mothers cabin last weekend. A little of my family history lays on this table. I will describe them one at a time.
History can be funny, and that is the case with this watch. These kind of watches was quite popular during the fifties in Norway. My grandmother bought this from a insurance company and had to put on 2 kroner (coins) each week to make it work. A insurance employee came and emptied the watch when it was full. On that time 2 kroner was a decent amount of money and done with the best wishes for my mother.
Instructions for how to use this watch. Could you imagine if a insurance company were run like this nowadays:)
These shoemaker forms, one for adults and one for children, was probably in use between 1900 and 1940 by my great grandfather. They used different kind of animal leather.
The last one I want to show you is a fishing tool used by my great grandfather. This was used to keep track of all the fishing angles. Used both in Ullsfjord and when they were months away in the cold winter in Lofoten.
Thanks for visiting my post!
Daniel
I love the archaic look
It seems like the past is just in front of you .
While it seems like great to get hands on things that were used by the ancestors :)
Liked the watch story .

It was fun to learn about this things:)
Amazing things! I have never seen such pads before.
Your relatives were very hardworking.
And shoes were made and fished.
And the Museum does not need to go - things are perfectly preserved.
Thanks for the pictures! @solbadans -Daniel.

One of the best ways to make yourself happy in the present is to recall happy times from the past. Photos are a great memory-prompt, and because we tend to take photos of happy occasions, they weight our memories to the good.
Wow maybe this is an antique and unique historic item, i think this may already be a rare item for sore 😁
you are looking true art lover, my friend.
My grandmother bought this from a insurance company and had to put on 2 kroner (coins) each week to make it work.
Wow aesome it is. Some gold and old things. Shoemaker looks cool. And that watch is adorable
I have never seen a fishing rod like this,
Of course because it is a pastime, but still very good, is it still in use ??
The fishing is still very traditional,
Wow I must say your grandmother values memory too was why she didn’t dispose them
Memories could be funny but sweet and sometimes bitter
But yours isnt the bitter type , it’s history . Smiles
The clock reminds me of my grandpa’s bell clock that stands at the wall chiming every hour of the day .
I’ve seen the shoe maker tool around in my country but the fishing tool I must confess is interesting to me cause I haven’t seen something like that
It looks like you grand mother was in love with this watch.
its a great collections.... thanks for sharing
These look historical. Really beautiful, I love to see old things though I'm not a fan of history.
Anyways these are really beautiful
So it was really expensive to hold a watch at that age of time? Now a days, most of the people only use their cellphone to check time. Just a few one use watches. Mostly they wear it because they are fond of these.
Wow! So many interesting details
