Reggae originated from Jamaica especially Kingston in the late of 1950s. There are various musical instruments used by the people when playing reggae such as organ, guitar, drums, bass, brass instrument and melodic. The term reggae more properly denotes a particular music style that evolved out of the earlier genres like Ska and Rocksteady.
Bob Marley claimed that the word the word reggae came from a Spanish term for "the king's music". The liner notes of To the King, suggesting that the word reggae was derived from the Latin regi meaning "to the king". The shift from Rocksteady to reggae was demonistrated by the organ shuffle pioneered by Jamaican musicians like Jackie Mittoo and Winston Wright.
Many reggae musicians are vegetarian, including the late, great Bob Marley. Because meat is dead, Rastafarians believe it works against life's energy. Bob Marley's band The Wailers was once sacked on tour as a support band because they were proving much more popular than the main act.
'Rasta' reggae, faster and louder than normal, arrived in the late '60s when a bunch of reggae artists started writing lyrics and music targeted at the growing Rasta movement... which in those days had nothing whatsoever to do with racism. Quite the opposite
Reggae developed after rocksteady, which in turn was born of ska. The chords are usually played on the off beat, AKA the skank. It's played in 4/4 time with really simple chord progressions and loads of heavy bass and reggae has spawned more than 15 different musical forms in total, some of this form are roots,raga,dub. At one point The Queen of England presented Beenie man with the reggae artist of the year award. I didn't realise the queen was involved with this ahah

You can hear the heavy and thick sound of bass in reggae music. But the dominant music is played by bass guitar and there are several dialects that people can use to play reggae music such as the Jamaican English, Jamaican patois and lyaric dialects. The majority of the old reggae artists from Jamaica were shot in gang related incidents. Which is shocking. Even Bob was shot but survived. I knew jamaica was rough but I didn't realise how much trouble actually goes on until I watched the Marley Documentary,
