This is another piece from one of my old Total Guitar magazines. This time it is from July 1996 in their acoustic delta blues column. It is labelled as a novice piece, but it is fairly demanding, especially if you have nerve damage in your picking hand that makes it weaker than usual. I regard playing like this as some exercise for my hand.
I did mess up near the end, but I will let it stand as is. This is just a bit of fun and not a serious performance. Vote accordingly.
It is interesting to look at the ads in old magazines. A Gibson Les Paul was about £1000 then. That is similar to now, but that would have been considered a lot more money then.
I am playing my Benford custom Telecaster through a Zoom G3X (as usual).
Rock on!

Nice playing dude! Took a while to load on 3Speak but enjoyed what I heard!
How often do you play the blues?
Cheers. I think it was about 12 hours from upload to publication. They are having a few problems there.
I have played blues of various types for years, but not so much in this style. Blues is central to so much music and it's an easy form to mess around with, so I play it a lot.

tokens.Hey Steve, I was hoping you could teach me how to embed a video in a post on here, I seem to be struggling with it.
Love the playing by the way. My first electric was a white fender tele - ash body and maple neck. Guitar plays like a dream!

I just posted the video using 3speak, although they are having some issues and it took a look time to actually get posted. Alternatively you can just past Youtube links in a post and they will appear.
Thanks for watching.

tokens.Nice job! I have been listening to some heavy instrumental stuff lately. I am going to have some really cool stuff to highlight in my #weeklyspins post on Friday.
It's a fun little piece that I have memorised for now. I would play it down the pub if I could go :(
You know what they say. "Move it or lose it". Nice blues piece. Does playing help strengthen your hand?
I would hope that playing helps, but I am keen to not lose the ability to play and so will keep trying.
