Un 17 de noviembre de 2018, como podría haber Sido cualquier otro día, nació mi pequeño Matty, el malcriado de casa. Recuerdo que debían esperarse los cuarenta y cinco días después del nacimiento para poder recogerlo, después venía el fin de año y debía irme para la casa de mis abuelos, así que no fue hasta el nuevo año que Matty se vino a vivir a casa.

On November 17, 2018, as it could have been any other day, my little Matty, the spoiled brat at home, was born. I remember that I had to wait forty-five days after the birth to pick him up, then it was the end of the year and I had to go to my grandparents' house, so it wasn't until the new year that Matty came to live at home.
Lo traje en una moto, contra todo pronóstico porque en mi casa no querían más perros, llegó todo asustado, tan pequeñito. Mi mamá y yo recordamos con nostalgia como cabía en una loza pequeña de las del piso de mi casa. No salía al patio para nada, y esa primera noche durmió escondido conmigo en la cama. Supuestamente había escogido al perrito más tranquilo de los cuatro que habían nacido ese noviembre.

I brought him on a motorcycle, against all odds because in my house they didn't want any more dogs, he arrived scared, so tiny. My mom and I remember with nostalgia how he fit in one of the small dishes on the floor of my house. He wouldn't go out in the yard at all, and that first night he slept hidden in bed with me. Supposedly I had chosen the quietest puppy of the four that had been born that November.
Un perrito chulo, como acostumbramos a decirle a los que no son de raza. No sabía que estaba trayendo a casa a una fiera jajaja, juguetón, mordedor... el que avisa quien llega, o quién se va...el perrito más malcriado que podría llegar a existir, pero también el más cariñoso. Es la alegría de la casa, el Matty o tuty como le decimos, él responde por lo que sea mientras le hablemos como si fuese un niño chiquito. Aquí en casa, que no lo querían, ahora lo malcrían más que a nadie. Frente a todos se hace lo correcto, no hay subida para las camas, ni para el sofá...pero a solas cada uno lo dejamos hacer lo que él quiera.

A cool doggy, as we are used to say to those who are not of breed. I didn't know I was bringing home a beast hahaha, playful, biter... the one who warns who is coming, or who is leaving... the most spoiled doggy that could ever exist, but also the most affectionate. He is the joy of the house, the Matty or tuty as we call him, he responds to anything as long as we talk to him as if he were a little boy. Here at home, who didn't love him, now spoil him more than anyone else. In front of everyone we do the right thing, there is no climbing for the beds, nor for the sofa...but alone we let him do whatever he wants.
Su comida favorita el hígado, le encanta, deja el pozuelo vacío. Adoptó de forma propia, sin nadie enseñarle, porque además es un perro libre e indomable, traer en la boca lo que sea que encuentre para recibir a quien llega, cualquier cosa puede ser, la alfombra de limpiarse los pies que está en el portal, una hoja de la mata de almendras que hay frente a casa, o una de las almendras que caen, una piedra...lo que sea, con tal de traer un regalo de bienvenida al que llega, acompañado de unos cuantos ladridos y el movimiento de su cola.

His favorite food is liver, he loves it, he leaves the well empty. He adopted his own way, without anyone to teach him, because he is also a free and indomitable dog, to bring in his mouth whatever he finds to welcome those who arrive, anything can be, the carpet to wipe his feet that is in the doorway, a leaf from the almond bush in front of the house, or one of the almonds that fall, a stone ... whatever, as long as he brings a welcome gift to those who arrive, accompanied by a few barks and the wagging of his tail.
Con Matty hemos pasado momentos malos también, el pequeño enamoradizo se ha escapado varias veces detrás de las perras y ha vuelto hecho leña, todo un guerrero en el amor. Hubo una de esas veces dónde pensamos que no lo pasaría porque llegó muy golpeado, hasta con quemaduras de agua caliente que probablemente alguien le echó. Hemos tratado de cuidarlo un poco más, evitar que se escape (aunque el siempre encuentra el modo) y tenerlo más a la vista.

With Matty we have had bad times too, the little lover boy has escaped several times behind the bitches and has come back as firewood, a real warrior in love. There was one of those times where we thought he wouldn't make it because he arrived very beaten, even with burns from hot water that probably someone threw on him. We have tried to take care of him a little more, to prevent him from running away (although he always finds a way) and to keep him more in sight.
Matty es la alegría de nuestra casa, nuestro pequeño, siempre alegre y juguetón, chiquito, orejón, cariñoso, con su color Carmelita y su lengua larga que tantos besos se empeña en dar. Por el que todos preguntan. El eterno enamorado de Lila, aunque no la conozca esa es su futura esposa perra, con la que tendrá los perritos más lindos del mundo.

Matty is the joy of our house, our little one, always cheerful and playful, little, eared, affectionate, with his Carmelita color and his long tongue that he insists on giving so many kisses. The one everyone asks about. He is eternally in love with Lila, although he doesn't know her, she is his future dog wife, with whom he will have the cutest dogs in the world.
Mi Matty que dentro de unos meses cumple 5 añitos, o mejor dicho, 35 años, todo un hombre!. Solo espero poder disfrutar de tus ladridos y tus besos mañaneros Miles de años más, no importa que tan mal haya ido el día si al llegar a casa me vas a recibir con una hojita, un ladrido y el beso más amoroso.
