Los que se quedaron.Termino de leer este excelente libro de Luis Báez donde entrevista a diferentes personalidades cubanas que en 1959 ya eran figuras destacadas del arte, el deporte y la vida social, además muy bien establecidas económicamente, que decidieron seguir en Cuba e insertarse en los programas de la Revolución.
Alicia Alonso nuestra prima bailarina, German Pinelli maestro de la locución, Conrado Marrero excelente pitcher de las grandes ligas, Enrique Núñez Rodríguez un cronista de su época con una dosis de humor cubano y Celeste Mendoza, la reina del Guaguancó entre otros, están en este libro, sus historias trascienden y todos los cubanos nos vemos reflejados en ellas. Todas dejan un mensaje y es el amor a la Patria y el contribuir desde su puesto de trabajo o actitud en la sociedad a preservar la identidad cultural, la soberanía y nuestra cubanía.
Cada una de estas grandes figuras recorrieron el mundo y siempre anhelaban regresar a pesar de recibir ofertas jugosas de contratos de trabajo, en cada viaje tenían oportunidades de cambiar su destino, pero regresaban para seguir recorriendo sus calles hasta el fin de sus días junto a su gente, su pueblo.
El 2023 casi termina y el fenómeno de la emigración sigue muy fuerte, pero hay muchos como yo y otros que apostamos porque tienen que mejorar las cosas. Estamos viviendo una crisis económica muy fuerte que nos dejó la epidemia de la covid-19 y la inflación acompañante nos lleva muy recio.
Recientemente se han remodelado centros icónicos como el Restaurante Varsovia que ahora se llama 12 x 17 por su ubicación en el Vedado con diferentes opciones de productos. También podemos disfrutar de la Estación Cultural de Línea, cita de ferias artesanales e industriales, donde en cada evento la gente acude masivamente. También nuestros artistas trabajan sin descanso para brindarnos buenas obras de teatro que no perdemos la oportunidad de disfrutar.
El quedarse o no, está dentro de nosotros, el querer compartir con amigos, la familia y no tener que depender de nadie, tener voluntad de emprender, tener nuevas iniciativas, buscar soluciones a los problemas. Un ejemplo es esta comunidad Hive que nos ha permitido interactuar y desde varios países y ha florecido dentro de cada uno de sus miembros un ser emprendedor.
Habrá que hacer un libro sobre nosotros, los de a pie, los del día a día, los que luchan, los que sueñan y al igual que esas grandes estrellas que se mencionan en el libro y que recibieron muchos aplausos, también nosotros lo merecemos porque resistimos con una sonrisa en el rostro, que el próximo año podamos seguir aquí donde nacimos, sin renunciar a viajar, conocer el mundo e interactuar.
Les deseo a todos mis amigos lectores felices fiestas, que estén junto a sus familias, compartir ideas, planes y como decía Carlos Gardel, amante de su patria Argentina que vivió en Francia y otros países: …pero el viajero que huye tarde o temprano detiene su andar y aunque el olvido que todo destruye haya matado mi vieja ilusión, guardo escondida una esperanza oculta que es toda la fortuna de mi corazón. Those who stayed.I have just finished reading this excellent book by Luis Báez where he interviews different Cuban personalities who in 1959 were already outstanding figures in art, sports and social life, as well as very well established economically, who decided to stay in Cuba and join the programs of the Revolution.
Alicia Alonso, our dancing cousin, German Pinelli, master of speech, Conrado Marrero, an excellent major league pitcher, Enrique Núñez Rodríguez, a chronicler of his time with a dose of Cuban humor and Celeste Mendoza, the queen of Guaguancó, among others, are in this book, their stories transcend and all Cubans see themselves reflected in them. All of them leave a message and it is the love for the homeland and to contribute from their work or attitude in society to preserve the cultural identity, sovereignty and our Cuban identity.
Each of these great figures traveled the world and always longed to return despite receiving juicy offers of work contracts, in each trip they had opportunities to change their destiny, but they returned to continue walking the streets until the end of their days with their people, their people.
The year 2023 is almost over and the phenomenon of emigration is still very strong, but there are many like me and others who bet that things have to improve. We are living a very strong economic crisis that left us the epidemic of covid-19 and the accompanying inflation takes us very hard.

An example is this Hive community that has allowed us to interact and from various countries and has flourished within each of its members an entrepreneurial being.
It will be necessary to make a book about us, those of us on foot, those of the day to day, those who struggle, those who dream and just like those great stars mentioned in the book and who received much applause, we also deserve it because we resist with a smile on our faces, that next year we can continue here where we were born, without giving up traveling, knowing the world and interacting.

La emigración es un tema fuerte e implica mucho sacrificio, tristeza, dolor por la separación pero también esperanza. Y es así en muchos rincones del mundo, pero sé que en Cuba también es difícil. Excelente post y en mi opinión su grandeza está en la sencillez y profundidad con que tocas varios temas como la emigración, la esperanza, la reconstrucción de obras, el arte; entre otros.
Otro tema interesante fue la manera didáctica de construir la publicación para expresar tus ideas y desear feliz año nuevo a toda tu gente.
