Quizás pienses que mi espectro vocacional es demasiado amplio, y créeme que concuerdo contigo, pero cuando el interés hacia una profesión viene del alma, es imposible sustraerse de esa realidad, así que la única opción es disponerse a conquistar el sueño. Eso me ocurrió con la radio; desde pequeña la escuchaba junto a mi abuela, se convirtió en el centro de mis juegos infantiles, y en los días de mayor optimismo me embargaba la extraña sensación de que mi anhelo se haría realidad.

That happened to me with the radio; since I was a child I listened to it with my grandmother, it became the center of my childhood games, and in the days of greatest optimism I was overwhelmed by the strange feeling that my dream would come true.
Durante la adolescencia, comencé a oír un programa muy interactivo nombrado “Toque Joven”, que verdaderamente hacía honor a su nombre. Aunque tenía un locutor, los protagonistas eran muchachos de mi edad y yo sentía un deseo incontenible de estar entre ellos. Después de varias averiguaciones, supimos que la directora del mismo vivía cerca de mi casa, y como para las madres no hay límites cuando se trata de hacer felices a sus hijos, la mía se presentó en su casa sin ser invitada. Le explicó el motivo de su visita y también le habló de mi discapacidad visual. Por suerte, estaba ante una radialista a la que le encantan los retos, así que le dijo que aunque en ese momento no se encontraba haciendo ningún casting, me recibiría el lunes para realizarme algunas pruebas y valorar mi potencial.

As a teenager, I started listening to a very interactive program called "Toque Joven" (Young Touch), which truly lived up to its name. Although it had an announcer, the protagonists were boys my age and I felt an uncontainable desire to be among them. After several inquiries, we learned that the director of the program lived near my house, and as for mothers there are no limits when it comes to making their children happy, mine showed up at her house uninvited. She explained the reason for her visit and also told her about my visual impairment. Luckily, she was in front of a radio broadcaster who loves challenges, so she told her that although she was not casting at that moment, she would receive me on Monday to do some tests and assess my potential.

El fin de semana completo estuve pensando en la ropa que me pondría, pues quería causar una buena impresión. Sucede que desde el rol de oyente, a uno le parece que quienes hacen radio son una especie de personas superdotadas o excepcionales. Por fin llegó el ansiado día y desde que entré quedé atrapada para siempre por la magia del lugar. El olor de las cabinas no lo había sentido en ningún otro sitio, y cuando los muchachos me fueron saludando comprobé, para mi sorpresa, que era capaz de identificarlos sin que me dijeran sus nombres, porque constituían parte de mi vida hogareña cada jornada.

When my mom came back and told me about her effective management, I gave her so many hugs that I almost took her breath away. The whole weekend I was thinking about the clothes I would wear, because I wanted to make a good impression. It happens that from the role of listener, it seems to one that those who do radio are some kind of gifted or exceptional people. Finally the long-awaited day arrived and from the moment I entered I was forever trapped by the magic of the place. I had never smelled the smell of the booths anywhere else, and when the guys greeted me, to my surprise, I was able to identify them without them telling me their names, because they were part of my home life every day.

Then we went to the recording booth and I was asked to improvise on a theme I felt comfortable with. I chose love, as it is the most universal of feelings, and frankly I don't remember a word I said. The director told me that I had a clear and clean voice, as well as confidence in expressing myself. With the sincerity that characterizes her, she explained that she had never had a blind person in her team, however, she assured me that she would look for a way to work with me, so that I could participate in the different segments of the space.

El programa se transmitía de 7:20 a 9:00 de la noche y mis clases terminaban a las cinco, razón por la que muchas veces iba directo a la emisora en uniforme, sin bañarme y sin comer, pero con la inmensa satisfacción que se experimenta cuando uno hace lo que le gusta. Mi fiel compañera era la máquina braille, que es grande y pesada; en el colectivo se estimulaba la solidaridad, y siempre alguien me ayudaba con esa tarea. La primera semana estuve observando cómo se realizaba el programa y cuando me correspondió decir mis primeras palabras ante los micrófonos, solo atiné a enviar saludos a mis padres, que ya eran fieles oyentes.

Un gran desafío fue participar en emisiones realizadas desde espacios exteriores, principalmente escuelas y centros de trabajo. Para ello, contábamos con el control remoto de la emisora, una guagua llena de historia y equipada con lo necesario en ese tipo de transmisiones.

There I approached all genres of speech, such as commentary, narration, news reading, declamation and interview, among others. There was also a dramatized section, where we had to demonstrate our acting skills, and I admit that I was not doing too well in that aspect. A big challenge was to participate in outdoor broadcasts, mainly from schools and workplaces. For this, we had the station's remote control, a bus full of history and equipped with the necessary equipment for this type of transmissions.
Las anécdotas que atesoro en un lugar especial de mi mente, alcanzarían para varios post, sin embargo, hay un regalo que no quiero dejar de mencionar. Toque Joven no solo fue mi primer espacio de realización profesional, sino que Dios también me envió a ese lugar, porque allí conocería al mayor de los tesoros, @yventura, el amor de mi vida.

Son muy gratos recuerdos. Te confieso algo, en mi infancia fui a algunas clases de piano, pero no era muy buena.. Uno debe asumir sus debilidades. A veces, la retirada a tiempo es una victoria.
Y yo te confieso que a mi no me gusta mi voz, y nunca podría ser una locutora jejeje ;)
Es que todos tenemos nuestras potencialidades. Lo importante es identificarlas y saber aprovecharlas.

Qué recuerdos. Qué juventud aquella!!! Ya hoy no sobreviven espacios como aquel. De ahí traemos la disciplina férrea de hacer bien nuestro trabajo a veces sin esperar nada a cambio.

Amiga: recuerdo los inicios de ese programa. Confieso que aunque en mi infancia escuchaba mucho la radio cuando comenzaron a transmitir toque joven ya hacía tiempo que no escuchaba radio. Sin embargo, por aquella época estaba con yeso en un pie producto de una lesión jugando al fútbol y toque joven al principio me salvaba del aburrimiento al no poder salir de casa pero descubrí un programa exelente que incluso después de recuperarme seguí escuchándolo. Un grupo de locutores excepcionales, todos muy jóvenes, con un talento enorme. Gracias por el trabajo que desarrollan
