Hola amigos hivers, espero que todos estén teniendo un bonito día.
Como todos saben la pandemia del COVID fue una etapa muy dura donde el mundo cambió completamente su ritmo de vida. En esta etapa muchos negocios tuvieron que cerrar sus puertas y hubo momentos donde daba mucho miedo salir a la calle. Pasamos mucho tiempo de encierro en la casa e incluso cuando la situación mejoraba y se nos permitía salir un poco, no habían muchos lugares a donde ir.
Sobre todo fue difícil vivir así durante el período vacacional, pues Julio y Agosto son los meses donde podemos tomarnos un respiro del trabajo y la rutina diaria, para poder hacer cosas diferentes como ir a la playa, visitar lugares nuevos y pasar tiempo con la familia. En un momento donde nuestras cabezas necesitaban despejar de tanto estrés e incertidumbre y en muchas familias hasta dolor, causados por la pandemia, fue muy difícil no poder hacerlo debido a los protocolos de seguridad.
Pero a pesar de todo esto y aún con muchas restricciones, algo se pudo hacer y este post es para contarles lo que hice en mis vacaciones durante la pandemia, sobre todo durante los años 2020 y 2021 que fueron los más difíciles, pues son momentos que valen la pena recordar, algo positivo en un momento muy negativo.

As you all know the COVID pandemic was a very hard time where the world completely changed its rhythm of life. During this time many businesses had to close their doors and there were times when it was very scary to go out in the street. We spent a lot of time locked up in the house and even when the situation improved and we were allowed to go out a little, there were not many places to go.
It was especially difficult to live like this during the holiday period, as July and August are the months where we can take a break from work and the daily routine, to be able to do different things like going to the beach, visiting new places and spending time with the family. At a time when our heads needed to clear of so much stress and uncertainty and in many families even pain, caused by the pandemic, it was very difficult not to be able to do so due to security protocols.
But despite all this and even with many restrictions, something could be done and this post is to tell you what I did on my vacation during the pandemic, especially during the years 2020 and 2021 which were the most difficult, because they are moments worth remembering, something positive in a very negative time.
En marzo de 2020 llegó la pandemia del covid a Cuba, y como muchos países, no estábamos preparados para esto. Esto fue un año muy difícil en este aspecto, un cambio de vida muy brusco para todos. A pesar de esto, como dije, hubo algunos momentos que valen la pena recordar. En este año mis vacaciones consistieron en dos viajes: el primero al Campismo "Dos Hermanas", al que fui con la familia de mi esposo (mi novio en aquel entonces); y el segundo a la Playa "Boca de Galafre", con mi familia y mi novio.
In March 2020 the covid pandemic arrived in Cuba, and like many countries, we were not prepared for this. This was a very difficult year in this aspect, a very abrupt change of life for everyone. Despite this, as I said, there were some moments worth remembering. In this year my vacations consisted of two trips: the first one to "Dos Hermanas" Camping, where I went with my husband's family (my boyfriend at that time); and the second one to "Boca de Galafre" Beach, with my family and my boyfriend.
Campismo "Dos Hermanas"
Este fue el primer lugar al que pudimos ir después de tanto tiempo de confinamiento. Estuvimos allí del 9 al 12 de julio, este campismo está ubicado en el municipio de Viñales, un lugar bello rodeado por naturaleza y aire puro, justamente lo que necesitábamos. No habían muchas personas allí, ya que por protocolos de seguridad el lugar no podía estar al 100% de su capacidad normal.
Llegamos ahí en una guagua y todos estábamos usando nuestro nasobucos, y si conocen la ruta a Viñales sabrán por qué llegué mareada y con ganas de vomitar. Por suerte logré aguantar y al bajarme de la guagua el aire fresco me mejoró. En la entrada nos tomaron la temperatura para asegurarse que todos estuviéramos bien y no hubo ningún problema.
Camping "Dos Hermanas"
This was the first place we could go after such a long time of confinement. We were there from July 9 to 12, this campground is located in the municipality of Viñales, a beautiful place surrounded by nature and fresh air, just what we needed. There were not many people there, since due to security protocols the place could not be at 100% of its normal capacity.
We arrived there in a bus and we were all wearing our nasobucos, and if you know the route to Viñales you will know why I arrived dizzy and felt like throwing up. Luckily I managed to hold on and when I got off the bus the fresh air made me feel better. At the entrance they took our temperature to make sure we were all ok and there was no problem.

Enseguida nos dieron nuestra cabaña, desde la cual podíamos apreciar la belleza del paisaje natural, y es que todo el campismo está dentro de las montañas y las puedes ver de bien cerca. Era una cabaña doble en una habitación estaban mis suegros y mis dos cuñadas y en la otra mi hermano mi novio y yo. Por la noche íbamos un rato a la recreación, dónde ponían música y luego nos reuníamos todos en la cabaña a jugar dominó.
They immediately gave us our cabin, from which we could appreciate the beauty of the natural landscape, and all the camping is inside the mountains and you can see them very close. It was a double cabin, in one room were my in-laws and my two sisters-in-law and in the other my brother, my boyfriend and me. At night we would go to the recreation room, where they played music and then we would all meet in the cabin to play dominoes.

La piscina fue el lugar donde más pasamos tiempo, pues debido a las restricciones por el COVID muchas de las actividades que se hacían ahí, como excursiones,entre otras, no se pudieron realizar. Como toda piscina, tenía una parte más bajita y una honda, separadas por un puente muy bonito. Allí jugué mucho con mi cuñadita y nos divertimos cantidad. Una de las características más sobresalientes de esta piscina es tener las montañas tan cercas, es un paisaje tan bello que da mucha tranquilidad al verlo.
The pool was the place where we spent the most time, because due to the COVID restrictions, many of the activities that were done there, such as excursions, among others, could not be carried out. Like any other pool, it had a shallow part and a deep part, separated by a very nice bridge. I played there a lot with my sister-in-law and we had a lot of fun. One of the most outstanding features of this pool is having the mountains so close, it is such a beautiful landscape that gives a lot of tranquility to see it.

Cerca del campismo hay un lugar turístico de Viñales que es el Mural de la Prehistoria, nos acercamos bastante al lugar como para tirar algunas fotos pero como tal no se permitían las visitas en ese momento. Para hacer algo más, aparte de estar en la piscina, nos pusimos a jugar básquetbol y ping pong y así ejercitarnos un poco.
Near the campsite there is a tourist site of Viñales which is the Mural of Prehistory, we got close enough to the place to take some pictures but as such visits were not allowed at that time. To do something else, apart from being in the pool, we played basketball and ping pong to exercise a bit.

Sobre la comida del lugar no tengo quejas, todo estaba muy sabroso. Siempre íbamos juntos al comedor y luego de la cena dábamos un recorrido por el campismo. En fin la pasamos súper bien allí y espero poder visitarlo de nuevo en algunas vacaciones.
About the food there, I have no complaints, everything was very tasty. We always went to the dining room together and after dinner we took a tour of the campsite. Anyway, we had a great time there and I hope to visit it again on another vacation.

Playa "Boca de Galafre"
Este fue un viaje de ida y vuelta que hicimos en agosto en el que pasamos un día de playa junto a familiares y amigos. Llegamos a la playa bastante temprano y enseguida nos acomodamos. Para ser honesta, no disfruté tanto del mar, pues habían muchas aguamalas en el agua, pero a pesar de esto el estar en la playa junto a mi familia fue suficiente para pasarlo súper bien. Allí me puse a hacer un castillo de arena, que es algo que hago cada vez que voy a la playa, y luego mi novio se puso a tirarme fotos con perspectiva, muy ingeniosas que quedaron. Fue un día muy divertido y necesario pues no puedo concebir un verano sin ir a la playa y disfruté mucho junto a mi novio y familia.
"Boca de Galafre" beach
This was a round trip we took in August where we spent a day at the beach with family and friends. We arrived at the beach quite early and immediately settled in. To be honest, I didn't enjoy the sea so much, as there were a lot of aquamarine in the water, but despite this, being on the beach with my family was enough to have a great time. There I started to make a sand castle, which is something I do every time I go to the beach, and then my boyfriend started to take pictures of me with perspective, which were very ingenious. It was a very fun and necessary day because I can not conceive a summer without going to the beach and I enjoyed a lot with my boyfriend and family.

El 2021 fue el año más duro de la pandemia en Cuba, por lo que el verano pasó y no pudimos salir a ningún lugar. Ya para noviembre la situación había mejorado un poco por lo que pude hacerle una visita corta a mi papá en la Habana. En ese momento mi hermano también estaba allí visitando a su padre. Una vez en Pinar se nos dio la oportunidad de visitar la playa canas y pasamos un bonito día en familia. En estos dos viajes consistieron mis vacaciones de ese año.
2021 was the hardest year of the pandemic in Cuba, so the summer passed and we could not go out anywhere. By November the situation had improved a bit so I was able to pay a short visit to my dad in Havana. At that time my brother was also there visiting his father. Once in Pinar we were given the opportunity to visit the Canas beach and spent a nice day with the family. These two trips were my vacations that year.
Habana Vieja
Mientras estuve en la Habana visitando a mi papá, fui con mi hermano a dar un paseo por la Habana vieja. Siempre había ido por ahí con mi papá o alguien más, y como mi hermano no conocía el lugar, me tocó ser la guía y para colmo resulté malísima en el trabajo pues nos perdimos un poco pero dando vueltas y vueltas llegamos a donde queríamos ir. Nos tiramos fotos con el Caballero de París y en varios lugares como la plaza vieja y la plaza de las palomas. Al final nos dolían bastante los pies pero resultó ser un día muy divertido que pasé junto a mi hermanito.
Old Havana
While I was in Havana visiting my dad, I went with my brother for a walk through Old Havana. I had always gone there with my dad or someone else, and since my brother didn't know the place, I had to be the guide and to top it off I was terrible at my job because we got a little lost, but after going around and around we got to where we wanted to go. We took pictures with the Knight of Paris and in several places like the old square and the square of the pigeons. In the end our feet were pretty sore but it turned out to be a very fun day spent with my little brother.

Playa "Las Canas"
Ya de vuelta mi ciudad, se nos dio la oportunidad de visitar la playa "Las Canas", pues unos amigos estaban hospedados en una casa allí y nos invitaron a pasar el día. Fuimos en el carro de un amigo de mi mamá y por el camino hicimos una pequeña parada para merendar. Nada más llegar a la playa me metí en el mar pues casi se terminaba el año y no había podido ir. El agua estaba bastante limpia y la disfruté mucho. También jugamos un poco dominó y ya por la tarde regresamos a casa. Aunque no nos quedamos tanto tiempo como hubiéramos querido, la pasamos bastante bien.
"Las Canas" beach
Back in my city, we were given the opportunity to visit the beach "Las Canas", because some friends were staying in a house there and invited us to spend the day. We went in the car of a friend of my mom's and on the way we made a short stop for a snack. As soon as we got to the beach I went into the sea because it was almost the end of the year and I had not been able to go. The water was quite clean and I enjoyed it very much. We also played a little dominoes and in the afternoon we returned home. Although we didn't stay as long as we would have liked, we had a good time.

En resumen, a pesar de las inconveniencias que trajo consigo la pandemia, creo que si una cosa nos enseñó fue a valorar lo que en realidad importa, y eso es los momentos que uno pasa junto a us seres queridos. Por eso, aunque en esos dos años no disfruté las vacaciones como en años anteriores, si conservo esos recuerdos con mucha alegría, pues fueron momentos que nos unieron más como familia y que pudimos disfrutar en medio de una situación mundial adversa, y eso es lo que me llevo.
In summary, despite the inconveniences that the pandemic brought with it, I believe that one thing it taught us was to value what really matters, and that is the moments we spend with our loved ones. That is why, although I did not enjoy the vacations during those two years as in previous years, I do keep those memories with great joy, because they were moments that brought us closer together as a family and that we were able to enjoy in the midst of an adverse world situation, and that is what I take with me.

Yo di un tour por toda esa zona de viñales y la cueva del Indio, muy lindo por cierto pero cuando fui no había casi nada. Fue durante el periodo los pandemia y estaba pelada la zona.😄😄😄😄
