Woudl you consider an electric car?
Funnny question, because the new Mazda has a 62 Litre tank, compared to my Old Focus having a 50L tank, the first week I needed to refuel I regretted every second of a petrol car.
We have a large solar set up, and a battery, so on reflection, I'd probably never have to pay for fuel ever again if I had purchased an electric car; but I won't be selling / "upgrading" until this one is beyond economical repair.
My sticking point about not going electric was
- I wanted a wagon (and there's no wagons that fit the bill)
- I still wanted the sensation of gear changes (selfish, I know - but I did go from a manual to something with flappy paddles)
And finally, I don't wanna pay an electrician several thousand dollars (yet) to upgrade our board to get a charger placed in the right position. (I'd also not be keeping an electric car in the garage, I'd leave it in the drive way).
Only one car here, but also only one licensed driver, @ursa never wanted to learn.
