However, when we see it from a distance that doesn't allow us to observe its shape clearly, we easily say that it's a ladybug. The fact is that many people think that ladybugs are beetles, and although they belong to the same family, they are not. In any case, I found this tiny beetle, known as a “flea beetle” because of its small size, on lemon balm plants, where I usually see ladybugs.
From the beetle family, this tiny little friend was quietly devouring the lemon balm plant, which is on its menu and its favorite breeding ground. Native to Brazil and wooded areas, it is possible to find some of these specimens in the area due to its proximity to the countryside.
I must say that I hate seeing the leaves of my plants full of holes made by these little creatures, but I cannot deny that they are truly beautiful, even wonderful creatures.
On these rainy days, it's not common to find them so often, so even if they end up destroying my little plants, I enjoy seeing them when they appear. They are considered pests in bean crops, but around here, I've only seen a couple of them, so as long as they don't reproduce, I can watch them calmly without stressing out that they're going to destroy my garden.

Y como primera impresión, ¡Es una mariquita! Pero, no, es un escarabajo, su forma alargada, lo dice, sin embargo, cuando lo vemos desde una distancia que no nos permita observar bien su forma, lo que fácilmente decimos, es que se trata de una mariquita, y es que, muchas personas piensan que la mariquita es un escarabajo, y aunque pertenecen a la misma familia, no lo son. De cualquier manera, este diminuto escarabajo, conocido como Coquito Pulga, por su diminuto tamaño, asumo que le dicen así, lo he encontrado en las plantas de toronjil, en donde comúnmente suelo ver mariquitas.
De la familia de los coleópteros, este diminuto amiguito, estaba muy tranquilo devorando la planta de toronjil, que está dentro de su menú, y sitio de reproducción favorito, originarios de Brasil y zonas boscosas, es posible encontrarse algunos de estos ejemplares por la zona, debido a la cercanía al campo.
Debo decir que, odio ver las hojas de mis plantas llenas de orificios producto de estos amiguitos, sin embargo, no puedo negar que son criaturas realmente hermosas, e incluso maravillosas.
En estos días de lluvia, no es común encontrarlos tan seguido, así que, aunque acaben mis planetitas, me disfruto verlos cuando aparecen. Y es que, son consideradas plagas en cultivos de caraotas y frijoles, sin embargo, por estos lados, solo he visto un par de ellos, así que, mientras no se reproduzcan, puedo verlos con calma y sin estresarme porque me vayan a acabar con el jardín.

Si, ahora es que queda hoja, sin embargo, en varias ocasiones he tenido algunas plagas, me da dolor porque en ocasiones son animalitos hermosos, pero cuando toca, toca, saludos mi bella Ana Maria
Wow, I didn’t know there were beetles that look so much like ladybugs 😮 Nature is wild! The colors are amazing though — I’d totally mistake it for a ladybug too lol.
