My First Macro photography attempt | I NEED HELP๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

in Fascinating Insects โ€ข 5 years ago

Honestly speaking, I never thought taking close ups of insect would have even resulted to being this difficult and complex. Over the last few weeks I've been a visitor to the fascinating insects and macro photography community and so far I've been deeply amazed by the macro shots and amazing captures. I fell in love with almost all of them and I saw that most people made use of a macro lens attached to their phone camera, so I immediately ordered for one at jumia.com at $9.
I was excited when it arrived and said to myself I'm about to be one of the nice macro photographers on hive and so I immediately started looking up for some macro photography tips. Learnt few from YouTube. Not until yesterday when I decided to go out to test my macro lens and sincerely speaking I wasn't impressed at all with the photos, so I'd like to share with you some of them and how it went :

I guess I wasn't able to tweak some settings well or there's a special settings for a macro lens. Please guys I just need some help. I want to keep feeding this community with some nice macro shots. Please I need some assistance ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ฉ.
I kindly call on some nice photographers whom I've admired their works in the likes of @digitalis, @pavelsku,@aulia1993, @amryksr , @whisky2, @carlosadolfochac, @pradeepdee6, @brianhphotos, @jasonmunapasee, @jaki01 to kindly help contribute and give me some tips as well.

Do not worry. I got the same macro for smartphone at first and had all the same issues you mentioned. This lens wants you to get very closer and the subject area covered is very less. But I would suggest not to come to a conclusion unless you click 1000 photographs ๐Ÿ˜Š by then you will know what are the strengths and how you can use them efficiently. Your photographs are much better than mine when I clicked with macro first time. All you can concentrate on is the patience to wait for right shot and the post processing and imaage crop.

Coming to my current macro lens for smartphone is an updated variable magnification macro lens. Its bit heavy and big too

Wow. This looks extremely sweet and cool. I'd still give it several tries. Where did you purchase this from?

I don't think is a setting problem. I had the same emotion when I saw fantastic images captured from smartphone and so I decided also to test this. I bought a pack at about 25$ with a macro lens. But the result was also very poor, and the main problem is that you have to be very closed to the subject. So for insect, it is about impossible. So I think, the photographers with smartphone have a very good macro lens, very good quality and so the price would be around 100$. Maybe I'm wrong, by the way it is just my feeling. So for now, I still continue with my Macro lens Raynox with my Lumix FZ200 camera...

Okay noted. I guess I'd have to start saving up for a better macro lens again ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Most times I scare my subjects on every nice shots I try to take.

Dont worry buddy, that happens with everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š All you need to put in is a real patience for right shot.

You are right actually. I started off the same way(2018) getting the macro lens (similar one )out of excitement and it had very poor results. Later after little research I was lucky to get a bigger Macro lens which cost me 3000 Indian Rupees ( ~40$ )
