I don't think is a setting problem. I had the same emotion when I saw fantastic images captured from smartphone and so I decided also to test this. I bought a pack at about 25$ with a macro lens. But the result was also very poor, and the main problem is that you have to be very closed to the subject. So for insect, it is about impossible. So I think, the photographers with smartphone have a very good macro lens, very good quality and so the price would be around 100$. Maybe I'm wrong, by the way it is just my feeling. So for now, I still continue with my Macro lens Raynox with my Lumix FZ200 camera...

Okay noted. I guess I'd have to start saving up for a better macro lens again 😩. Most times I scare my subjects on every nice shots I try to take.
Dont worry buddy, that happens with everyone 😊 All you need to put in is a real patience for right shot.
You are right actually. I started off the same way(2018) getting the macro lens (similar one )out of excitement and it had very poor results. Later after little research I was lucky to get a bigger Macro lens which cost me 3000 Indian Rupees ( ~40$ )
