Saturday was not my best day putting me down a bit on the week again but there are 4 matches remaining and I did keep my stakes limited so the damage was reduced
Antwerp vs Club Brugge
Antwerp continues to be a poor team who suffer from the lack of money as most of their best players while they opted for a cheap coach which was not the right call. While the board still shows their trust in him, it feels like merely hope as it will cost them money to have him replaced. They are only 14th in the league but at the same time haven't gotten crushed against tha aisna handicap. overall they remain a team that I look to oppose if the odds are right. They still are without Praet & Kerk and the general aproach of the coach remains defensive. Club Brugge despite the fact that they are 2nd in the league have not impressed and it feels like they felt like a Champions League team which was what mattered the most lacking some drive and motivation in the league where they have issues against defensive opponents. So nown-, they kind of got put with their feet on the ground in the Champions League after a 2-1 loss against Atalanta and a 4-0 which could have been more against Bayern. I do think there is a chance that they shift their mindset again to the league now where they underperformed in what they brought while still taking the points. I kind of still stick to the idea that the top teams always at the end lead the 1st half standings also where there needs to be a massive regression to the mean as Brugge is 3rd last there. Last week I put a bet on them on the 1st half in an away match which wasn't good so there certainly also is a case to be made that Brugge simply isn't a good 1H team this year. I do expect Brugge to be in somewhat of a revenge mode after the loss against Bayern while Antwer is unlikely to all of a sudden put up a great performance. I do expect a match picture where Antwerp puts focus on defense trying to come out on the counter and Club Brugge taking all the initiative. I took 0.2 units on

Cercle Brugge vs Zulte-Waregem
Cercle Brugge is one of those teams that I see underranked based on their potential in 13th place. They often put up ok performances but fail to win. Last week they had a 2-2 draw against Genk which was fair. One of their issues is that they seem to get a bit too tired neat the end of matches. Zulte-Waregem is the team that is currently praised the most in the media as they did have some good performances especially for a promoted teams with limited means. However, I do kind of see them as overperormers at the moment instead of a revelation and so expect some regression to the mean at some point. Last week they took a 'surprise' home win gaiants AA Gent with a 4-1 score which partly was due because Gent missed 4 key players and had an off day. The 4 matches before all were played againts fairly weak teams. I kind of want to back Cercle Brugge and oppose Zulte-Waregem but the odds are at the point where I kind of have to go the opposite given that Cercle Brugge is the clean -0.5 favorite. There is such a thing as momentum in results and on both ends this vafors Zulte-Waregem. I'm going to stay away from this match and see where it takes me in-game.
No Pre-Game Bets
Genk vs La Louviere
Genk remains a team with tons of potential but in a real crisis. Either they play their style and become extremely vulnerable in the back (which was indicated by the 1.76xg against for Dender who up to that point avergaged like 0.5), in these matches they don't have enough scoring power to make up for what they get against. When they do focus more of the defense, there is almost zero danger like what was seen against Betis in the Europa league which ended in a 0-0 draw. La Louviere is a very clear team which the 3 consecutive 0-0 scores shows. They have their defense in place but they lack the power to score. So today mainly depends on how Genk will play. If they try to go for it they likely will get hit by counter chances again while if they play more defensive it might turn out in another La Louviere 0-0 match. I expect a rather cautious Genk today honestly trying to keep the ball in the team and find the one gap to score. If this doesn't come immediately they have options on the bench to still make the difference late in the match. I took 0.18 units on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.150 and just 0.02 units on
Genk Win & Both To Score @ 3.630. I also have a lean on the under corners as Genk isn't the high corners team of they have dominance but I see that the handicap is set accordingly.
Union vs Sint-Truiden
Union is 1st in the league coming off a 3-1 win at home against Charleroi which was more close than the result suggested. They did get crushed by Inter with a 0-4 score after they also lost against Newcastle with a 0-4 score. Against Club Brugge they also showed not good enough suffering a 1-0 loss. Overall it feels like against good teams they generally struggle while against smaller teams they still find a way to win and beat the handicap. Stvv had an easy league where they took a lot of points but now during a stretch against better opponents they kind of are holding up well with overall good performances still. I do expect Stvv with a tight defense and the aim to break out on corners. I do want to cautiously oppose Union purely based on what they have brought and not so much on their results while Stvv has shown to be a team that can somewhat be trusted. I took 0.2 units on
Stvv 1st Half +0.5 @ 2.030, 0.1 unit on
Under 3 @ 1.930 given that Stvv is a very underish away team while Union still gets low xg against. I also took a 0.06 unit bet on
Union 1st Half -0.5 Corners @ 1.520 with the hope to get some more in-game at higher odds. I do see mainly Union trying to break the Stvv Defense which should result in some corners.
