RE: It is all about Power and Money

It's all about money. A lot of these clubs have enormous debts like Barcelona. But they do pay tens of millions for one player.
The ESL would have been a disaster for all other European clubs.

The salaries are recognizing the talents of players yet it is forcing the less well funded teams into a corner. They cant compete for the best players so they have to pay up for less players.

It is a lose-lose situation for them.

Messi is a really talented player, but a salary of 71 million euro a year!?
No player is worth that amount....

Barcelona is paying this, but is also almost bankrupt. It's absurd I think.

Sure the numbers are absurd. In the US, we have Lebron James making over $40 million a year just in salary, not including endorsements.

The problem is that someone will pay these guys and it increases the market for them.

it is true that bigger clubs would have benefitted more but I feel that it might also help save football has a lot of top clubs are in big debts and might likely not be able to settle this debt in years to come thereby affecting the clubs and football in general.

These clubs shouldn't spend money they don't have for players. The salaries are ridiculous.

that's true. I once wrote a post on football clubs being just a front for money laundering. some clubs are thriving well despite these huge salaries being paid. i have doubts with clubs paying this big amounts. it will lead to their liquidation soon just as it affected some clubs such as QPR and Anzhi in the past
