Y ya al final de la vuelta 26 el piloto de la escudería Haas, Mick Schumacher, el hijo del recordado heptacampeón Michael Schumacher tuvo un fuerte accidente chocando contra una defensa al lado de la pista y su carro se partió en dos pero afortunadamente él salió ileso, y esto hace que salga a la pista el auto de seguridad y después en la vuelta 30 se decreta la bandera roja deteniendo totalmente la carrera, luego de unos cuantos minutos se reanuda la carrera con el auto de seguridad y debido a las limitaciones de tiempo no se podrán dar toda las 78 vueltas pautadas y la carrera se correrá solo por 35 minutos más y ya para el final de la carrera los cauchos de Checo estaban bastante desgastados y tuvo que soportar la presión de Sainz en esas últimas vueltas hasta que por fin ganó Cheo Perez, Sainz de segundo y Verstappen de tercero.
