UCL Group Stage.

I am always particularly excited where UEFA Champions League is concerned. There is always this presence and aura that comes with it because it's a prestigious trophy to win and being of European prestige where you battle with top teams by the virtue of the position in previous season, it adds a nice ring to it to be the winner.

Chelsea defeated Manchester City in the last Champions League final and no one can rule them out again this time because they have always been solid ever since Thomas Tuchel took over and with the addition of Romelu Lukaku, they would be a force to be reckoned with.

As usual, I would be predicting some outcomes and I hope I am right. Let's delve into the group stages:

Group A:
Manchester City
Paris Saint Germain
RB Leipzig
Club Brugge

For this group, in as much as it pains me to take RB Leipzig out of the equation, I believe Manchester City and PSG would edge this group. Of course, Messi's inclusion would give PSG a massive lift.

Group B:
Atletico Madrid
Liverpool
Porto
AC Milan

Another tough group but I am sticking with Atletico Madrid and Liverpool to edge this group out. Painstakingly, AC Milan had to be left out and the impressive Porto too.

Group C:
Sporting Lisbon (SP)
Dortmund (BVB)
Ajax
Besiktas

I am tilting the advantage in favour of Dortmund and Ajax for this group.

Group D:
Inter Milan
Real Madrid
Shakhtar
Sheriff

I am excited to see what Sheriff would do in this group and there is no pressure on them but I hope they can at least cause a major upset in this round but as I said, no pressure. I believe Inter Milan and Real Madrid would edge this group.

Group E:
Bayern Munich
Barcelona
Benfica
Dynamo Kyiv

It's a straight forward decision for me and I see Bayern Munich with Barcelona topping this group ahead of others.

Group F:
Villarreal
Manchester United
Atalanta
Young Boys

Manchester United would hope to have a double over Villarreal to at least alleviate the torture they gave their fans after losing the Europa League final to Villarreal. Villarreal would be desperate to prove it wasn't a fluke. The two legs would be interesting though. I believe Villarreal and Manchester United would get out of this group, topping but I believe Atalanta won't be a push over too. It's either Villarreal or Atalanta but I am sticking with Villarreal.

Group G:
Losc Lille
Sevilla
Salzburg
Wolfsburg

Seriously, I can't see any stand out performers here except for Sevilla. I would just randomly guess and pick Sevilla and Salzburg to lead this group.

Group H:
Chelsea
Juventus
Zenit
Malmo

An easy one too, barring any unforeseen upset, I see Chelsea and Juventus comfortably getting out of this group as leaders.

What's your pick for the groups and who do you think might win the UCL for this season's edition? It is going to be another exciting one to look forward to. I hope we see a new winner this time around though. Maybe it would be PSG's turn finally because they always play so well and get so close but they lack that finishing edge at the end which I believe Messi should be able to provide for them.

We wait...

Thank you for your time.
