Two lighthouses under the same sky. πŸŽ‡

No matter the distance, there is one sky, even though we are in different parts of the planet, and at each point there is a lighthouse, which is our light, our beacon.

I recently celebrated another anniversary of my birth into a new life, one that I chose for myself, one that took me far from my birthplace, but which I adopted as my own. A life in my grandfather's land where I feel very good and comfortable.

But on the other side of the pond there is a lighthouse, like the one here, that always shines and its light illuminates someone very special to me: my friend and soul sister. Last Friday she sent me a message saying β€˜Happy birthday’ and no, she's not referring to my birthday but to my rebirth in another land. I always celebrate that day and so does she.

It is impossible to forget those days leading up to it, those moments and my arrival... she was and is present every day, every moment. It is as if we were twins, even though she is two years older than me.

She lives in a city with a beautiful lighthouse and goes for walks on the beach regularly, using the lighthouse as her landmark. She walks there and back. I had the opportunity to see it in person, and it is beautiful. So yesterday I asked her to send me photos of the lighthouse in Monte Hermoso, which is the name of the city, as close up as possible. And here are some of the photos she sent me.

Here there is also a lighthouse, or rather a street lamp, in the feminine form. Both are beautiful and are our lighthouses. And no matter the distance between us, she is my sister and we are closer than ever. It seems strange because of the distance, but that's how it is.

Celebrating this new anniversary and my friend's words about the lighthouse were what motivated and inspired these rocks of kindness. She is a lighthouse, the lighthouse of Monte Hermoso, which is her reference point, her light, her beacon. The other is me, the lighthouse or street lamp of Malaga. Both have light, even though they are more than 12,000 kilometres apart, but for our souls there is no distance.

She accompanied me in this process and accompanies me every day as if she were an older sister. Thank you for that because I know you always read me.

For these rocks, the drawings were only guides, especially for the Monte Hermoso lighthouse, as I then painted the sky and the lines below disappeared. It has red, white and black colours, and the Malaga lighthouse only has black and white. I painted the sky with cobalt blue, adding a few clouds here and there.

20250617_005534.jpg20250617_005548.jpg20250617_005542.jpg

I tried to find some elongated rocks among those I had, and the ones I found had a very strange shape. I took advantage of that shape, and the lighthouses followed suit, adapting to the situation, as in life. On the other hand, the rocks were porous, but I used them anyway, because, as always, I tried to find similarities with life.

Life has those things, like rocks, but that doesn't mean that light shines through a lighthouse.

First, I placed the colours on each part of the two lighthouses. Then I painted the sky on both rocks surrounding the lighthouses and finally, on this occasion, I wanted to do something different: outline the contours of both. I looked for something to achieve this, as my finest brush didn't work as I wanted it to and I didn't have anything like a highlighter or black marker to hand. Well, do you know what I used? My black eyeliner. It worked perfectly. Imagination and creativity must always be present.

20250617_122401.jpg20250617_122408.jpg20250617_122711.jpg

So I outlined the edges of both lighthouses, defining them well, and I think it turned out perfect. Thanks to these two rocks of kindness, both lighthouses are together, side by side, two lights, two countries, one sky and one story.

Of course, I dedicate this post and these rocks of kindness to my sister in life. Thank you for being there every day, through thick and thin, for listening to me and being part of my heart.

Thank you all for joining me today. I send you my warmest regards. See you soon.

Wonderful work!!! These rocks are a solid support that holds a suggestion of light. The sky and the light itself are in them. Pure kindness. Pure kidness

Two lights shining in the distance. Thank you very much!

You're most welcome, my friend πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—πŸŒ»

This is a great way to celebrate a birthday. Moving long distances is difficult, but even more so if you need to cross national and cultural boundaries. Given that you're a Spanish speaker, then I imagine the transition into Spain was easier than if you had gone to Germany πŸ˜„. That would've been wild. You'd be speaking German right now. hehe. I wish you a happy birthday in your new country!

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag!

Good afternoon, Amonet

What beautiful works! I love these rocks of kindness. As a fan of lighthouses, I can't help but admire these beauties.

Beautiful photographs.

Have a lovely afternoon.

Thank you very much @miprimerconcurso!!!πŸ€— πŸ€—πŸ€—

Hello, dear friend @avdesing

How lovely it is to celebrate another year of your arrival in that beautiful city.

How beautiful is the connection you have with your friend. Distance is only physical, as people can be united through the heart.

I loved the lighthouse and the colors you used. I appreciate seeing the entire process of the work.

Have a beautiful afternoon.

A hug to the whole family.

I enjoyed doing this little something to celebrate, and I'm glad I could do it with her. Thank you very much!!!πŸ€—

Hi @avdesing, I can only say: congratulations for this birthday, the birthday of the new life you chose. And a big hello to the two twin sisters.

Hug!!!

I was so excited writing the post that I forgot to include the photos she sent me... Hahaha, thank you!

The post is very emotionally charged, very contagious emotion. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been nice to include the photos...just that the post is already very good as is.

I've known my friend since I was 18... it was emotional! Thank you!

It is almost a miracle to have such a close friend for so many years. So consider yourselves both very lucky, and enjoy as you do the treasure you have.

Every day, a friendship that grows stronger. Thank you again, good night!

Me has dejado con una sonrisa en la cara... es un post muy bonito. Gracias!!

Buenas noches!! πŸ€—πŸ‘‹

The black eyeliner worked perfectly ;)) Your inspiration, your friend that is more like a sister, your artistry... the lighthouse, the lamp the rocks, these beautiful colours - everything is extraordinary here 😍

Thank you very much @avdesing for creating & sharing these kindness rocks with us!

I started painting without realising that I was missing something to outline... I improvised, ha ha ha. Thank you very much! My friend was delighted!

Good morning, Avecilla πŸ˜…. It’s such a beautiful and inspiring story… and you’ve captured it in two kindness rocks. Two lighthouses under the same skyβ€”such a perfect symbol for that great friendship. I felt so much tenderness while reading you… thank you, always, for sharing these moments. And as for the painting on the rocks… they have texture, they’re magnificent. And you even used your eyeliner too ;)

It has been very emotional writing this post, writing and painting the rocks, very emotional indeed! And my friend on the other side of the process, it's incredible how close we are! Thank you!
