RE: Notes on Splinterlands and Axie Infinity (From a Gamer who plays Both)

in 1UP2 years ago

This has been one of my favorite reads so far... And it is even more impressive that you are only 19 years old.. You have a VERY bright future in you just focus on your passions and how do you align that to provide value to others

I wanted to disclose this to you as I just started the game this month... few will see these returns though as I think I have a good amount more experience in strategy and card games than the average due to my 20+ year history in them... but those stats are just in venari wavesmith for splinterlands alone I bought them at about 2.50-3 each and there is about 100 there making it about 700 so the asset has appreciated quite a bit on top of the 400 dec I make a day.

I personally wouldnt invest in the card now and am actually selling little at a time away at this point, but this is just to give you another perspective in your equation sure with slp prices the play to earn may seem like it earns more up front, but I also play both games. lets say 150 slp a day nets you $10 a day but the time it consumes to play vs I can instantly rent out and get 4-5$ a day and its pretty close to an investment in an axie team. Not to mention the power it provides for sps airdrop and the ability to appreciate in value whereas I noticed a lot of axies drop in value.

Anyways this post wasn't meant to sway you in any way one way or the other. I hope it has helped provide a different perspective and feel free to reach out if you ever want to discuss anything or topics.

Honestly, you made my night - just before I went into bed. Soo, I'm writing this in the morning. Tnx for the words, I definitely will try to hold it close in my thoughts.

Thanks for taking out the time to write this too, and I certainly agree with you on your points (anyone who has their head drilled right should). I understand that Axie is Linear and Splinterlands is more of exponential. But just like the book "Black Swan" explained - Linear is usually safer than exponential. In Linear, almost everyone gets to win and in exponential - a few players win. As you said, your returns are Awesome because it shows that Splinterlands doesn't just "favour the early adopters like many have said"(ordinary SPS drops is enough to make something out of and "Scale" - gamewise).

It's simple, ANYONE who has that kind of funds($800) should invest in Splinterlands, and for players who get to start on a little budget - I think the biggest barrier might be attaining the 5000 power collection to proceed into Bronze 1, and so forth(but I think this is very possible with patience).

Tnx for the PIZZA(that's my first on Hive) and I hope to talk to you soon. I already got your Discord in the comments of your post

I'm glad bro yeah I guess depending when you entered things, but I think this year alone made P2E exponential. To me due to splinterlands complex ecosystem it is actually rather linear (NFA) but take a little time to go and test out axie's discord servers vs splinterlands... the little details even in community you can sort of sense a difference. Even the fact that it is linked to hive where now we can simply just write about this.

Fyi my personal power when I started out even with the investments was quite low it was more so used as a rental income. I then used that rental income to rent out cards to test and level with.

One of the better ways to that right now is to use peakd in order to make bid for cards and I'd use peakd to research the rentals and use cardauctions to actually rent the card if you want to maximize and only rent a few cards. If you plan on renting a batch of cards its much better to just stay on peakmonsters interface.
