The complex of buildings of the palace of Count V.P. Orlov-Davydov with outbuildings was designed by architects Kh. Sakharov and A. Tsukanov with the participation of D. Gilardi. By 1834, a brick palace and a number of services, a 2-storey manager's house and a 3-storey office with a mezzanine were erected. In front of the palace there was an open area with fountains and sculptures.
The palace complex included an office building, a stone outbuilding for the manager, and a large horse yard. There was a kennel for 300 hunting dogs, a poultry yard with falcons and hawks trained to hunt, a menagerie with bears, wolves and foxes. The park with gazebos and fountains was founded in the 1840s. by a specially invited French architect. There was also a unique lilac garden, which collected all types of lilacs that can grow in the climatic conditions of the Middle Volga region. The estate had an extensive library that emerged at the end of the 18th century and existed until 1917.

The photo with the stairs going down appears to lead out the window...ha ha.... but I know it is an illusion and they use to turn and go down to the left.

Thank you for your feedback.))
There are many stairs in this building, I wonder what it was like for the residents to constantly walk on them.)))
