Power ~~pole~~ extend.

Am I genius or a complete idiot? I have no idea. Only time can answer that I guess. Either way I did it again. I gained more power. Not as much as I would like...but still decent amount by my standards. I have been seeing a lot of people powering down their already tiny stakes. That makes me very sad. The way I see it current HP prices presents a once in a lifetime opportunity. The way I see it HP is more likely to recover and reach new heights thane to reach these low levels ever again. But at the same time I can't really expect others to buy and power up Hive if I am not doing that myself? My stake is not that great yet. I am no leader in Hive or in general. So if I want to do something I have to do it myself. And not just hope that someone else will do that. Perhaps I don't have to be a leader to give a push in the right direction. Sometimes being a stubborn mule is perhaps good enough. I can't always break walls with my head. But if I will push long enough maybe others will join me and together we will manage to tear the wall down?

Also I may have lost most of my hope to earn decent money by selling art but I still have hope for Hive. And if I want those hopes and dreams to ever become a reality I will need to get A LOT bigger stake. I want to get to 50k and then 100k HP as soon as possible. So it only makes sense to buy Hive now when I still have means to buy HP. After all tommorow is not promised so it is possible that in the future I will have even less or no spare money. So I am spending a lot of the money I get now extending my stake. Perhaps I am just a naive fool. But it is also possible that this bet on Hive will pay off in the future. And if it will pay off maybe in my old age I will be able to live without worrying about money? So I am willing to take that bet. Are you?

In Dublin, quite a few coffee shops display local artists' work on their walls, complete with price tags, and take a commission on anything that sells. Is there anything like that in your town or city?

Unfortunately, very few of us get to make a living doing something we enjoy, which is one of the things that makes Hive so special. We get to write about whatever interests us and earn a few pennies into the bargain.

I don't think that we have anything like that. I wanted to sell a pizza painting to a local pizza place. But after coming there I felt uncomfortable asking for money so I just gifted it to them...🤦

Yes regardless of the prices Hive is an awesome place for me. Perhaps even more so during bear market- a few of my gaming post got quite generous rewards lately. For some people a few dollars for 700+ words my seem like not much. But I evaluate rewards mostly by how much hp I get for the post and not by dollars. So in my mind getting 30+ to 40+ HP for one post is great. Because I believe that: 1. once I will have bigger stake my curation rewards will be significant and 2. that sooner or later 1 HP will be worth at least 0.50 to 1 dollar again. I can't imagine something as awesome as Hive failing. Despite humans stupidity. That is way I want to have as much HP as possible. If I would have 100k HP and 1 hp would be worth 1 dollar that already would be incredible. But I like to believe that ceiling of HP is much higher than that. If I would be a millionaire I would love to invest into making a game. Of course I will probably never be a millionaire but I may as well take my chances with Hive because I will definitely not reach that amount by just saving/ selling art.

I also have the passion to keep growing my Hive account. Sometimes I see many people powering down their HP, but my goal is the opposite. I want to keep building my stake little by little because I believe it will be worth it in the future.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you

soon over 99999?

would be nice.

pull out the credit card. it can be done haha

I converted all my hbd to hive a while ago, we will see who wins the bet

I also converted my hbd. It seems like that was ages ago.

Sucks you are not selling your art. I wouldn't give up. Ask yourself, are you doing it for the money or because you love art? If you love art, then why not keep doing it.

Both. I love making art. Also I believe that it is one of the few things I do well. So I was hoping to get at least minimum wage for doing something I love. It seems that this will not happen any time soon. So now I intend to make art just for myself and not even hope to sell it.

Have you went to local markets and stuff to try and sell it?

In the past I had contract with a local gallery. They sold only 1 my piece and after some time kicked me out because they were not selling any of my works. In total I sold 5 pieces since 2017 and earned I believe 370 eur. I tried gifting pieces to people. I tried bringing them to a fair. Recently I tried making professional prints(and I paid a lot for them) and selling them to my neighbours. Nothing worked well enough to give me desired results. People from one hospital had promised me an exhibition. But I brought some of my best pieces there months ago. And the hospital still doesn't have the way to hang them... At first I was super excited about that potential exhibition. But now it feels that waiting is pointless so I am tempted to go there and take my pieces home without waiting for that exhibition. The last ,,idea'' I have is to fake my own death to see if people will start buying then. But I am not doing that any time soon.

Well, I would just keep making art because you love it.

yes that is my current plan as well.

Update: @fieryfootprints, I paid out 0.510 HIVE and 0.000 HBD to reward 6 comments in this discussion thread.
