
昨天晚饭太油腻了,就想着做个凉拌菜,冰箱里只剩下圆青椒了。
不知道过往吃的跟昨天吃的是不是同一品种,但外形是一样的,却唯独这次感觉味道挺不错,印象里以前吃起来总觉口感涩涩的,昨天凉拌了半个,今早从剩下的半个青椒掰了一小块放在嘴里尝了尝,脆脆的,还品出了一点甘甜,心情瞬间明亮了,
想起昨晚第一次尝试新鲜橄榄,咬下第一口的瞬间,最直观的是 “涩”——那种直让人皱眉的苦涩,再嚼上几下,果肉里的清甜就慢慢漫出来了,是很淡很鲜的甜,不浓烈,却清润得很,刚好中和了最初的涩。果肉不算特别厚实,带着点天然的嚼劲。越嚼,清香越明显,咽下去后,喉咙口还留着一股淡淡的回甘。
有点先苦后甜的意味。
Last night, the dinner was too greasy, so I thought about making a cold vegetable dish. The only thing left in the fridge was a round green bell pepper. I wasn’t sure if it was the same variety as the ones I’d had before, but it looked exactly the same. However, it tasted surprisingly good this time—usually, I remember bell peppers tasting a bit astringent. Last night, I used half of it in the cold dish. This morning, I broke off a small piece from the remaining half and put it in my mouth. It was crisp, and I even tasted a hint of sweetness. My mood instantly brightened up.
It reminded me of the first time I tried fresh olives last night. The moment I took the first bite, the most obvious taste was "bitterness"—a sharp bitterness that made me frown. But after chewing a few more times, a faint sweetness slowly spread from the flesh. It was a very light, fresh sweetness, not strong at all, but quite moist and refreshing, which just balanced out the initial bitterness. The flesh wasn’t very thick, but it had a natural chewy texture. The more I chewed, the more distinct its fresh aroma became. After swallowing, there was still a faint sweet aftertaste left in my throat.
It was a bit like the feeling of "first bitter, then sweet."
