Aeoniums - 我家的多肉法师

法师应该指的是佛教研习佛法经藏的僧侣，研习佛法，能为俗人解说佛法者；一般通晓经、论或律之行者。我以前可不知有一类多肉中文名叫法师，因它们看上去很难跟和尚有任何关联，但如果前面加上多肉两字，就指的是多肉中的其中一类了。多肉法师的品种越来越多，千姿百态，鲜艳夺目，我现在明白到了为什么那些种了多年的多肉的人特别喜欢法师类的多肉。

Chinese called Aeoniums a monk master. A monk master should refer to who study the Buddhist scriptures of Buddhism, and those who are familiar with the scriptures, theories or laws. I didn't know that Chinese called Aeoniums a such name before because they seemed difficult to have connection or anything to do with monks. How interesting is! There are more and more varieties of succulent Aeoniums with a variety of shapes and vibrant colors. Now I understand why those who have been growing succulents for many years, especially like Aeoniums.

我在后院种的法师应该有10多种了吧，很多的它们还是小小的，我还没有种植它们多长时间。夏天是它们的休眠期，生长十分缓慢，而且不容易养的好，但它们在我的眼中却显得更加美，可能是它们的叶子颜色比较鲜艳吧。好快就到秋天了，那时的它们就是猛长的时期，但叶片的颜色不知会不会有差异。

There should be more than 10 kinds of Aeoniums that I planted in the backyard. Many of them are still small. I haven't planted them for a long time. Summer is their dormant period. Now they grow very slowly and are not easy to grow well, but they look more beautiful in my eyes. Maybe their leaves are brighter in color. Autumn is coming soon. At that time, they are going to grow rapidly, but I don't know if there will be a difference in the color of the leaves though.

我也像很多的人一样从养原始法师开始，就是上图的第一盆，绿法师，它的叶片是玫瑰花型，绿绿的，但如果控水和阳光足够的话，它的叶片颜色有些时候会变成淡棕色，也是挺好看的。而第二盆也算是原始法师，叫黑法师吧，它的叶片颜色放在不同的地方会出现大差距。这棵种在没有太多阳光的地方，我又经常给它浇水，所以它的叶片没有那么黑，但正是我喜欢的颜色。这两个品种我种了几年，又容易长新枝，新枝插在泥土上就生长，我就种了很多的它们。

Like many people, I also started from growing original Aeoniums, which is the first pot in the picture above, the green one. Its leaves are rose-shaped and green, but if the water and sunlight are controlled enough, its leaves will sometimes turn light brown, which is also quite beautiful. The second pot is also a more popular type, called a black rose. Its leaf color will have a big difference in different places. This plant is not growing under full sun, and I often water it, so its leaves are not so dark, but it is my favorite color. I have grown these two varieties for several years, and they are easy to grow new branches. The new branches are growing when I planted them into the soil in the new pots, so I have a lot of them.

上图这棵叫墨法师，它可是种了有几年了。我从朋友家后院拿了一小枝的它回家，把它种在花盆很多年，但就是不生长，但有一年它忽飞猛进，也就长到了现在这么漂亮。我给它换了几次盆，现在的花盆很大，我想它今年肯定会长得更高大，好看。

The Aeonium in the picture above has been planted for several years. I took a small branch from my friend's backyard and planted it in a flower pot for many years, and it didn't grow. But one year, it suddenly soared and grew so beautiful until now. I have repotted it several times. The current flower pot is very large. I think it will definitely grow taller and more beautiful this year.

上图这些法师是我今年种的新品种。它们可是我无意中在街头上看到而买回家种的。一天的早上，我去本地的Farmers Market 逛，看到不远处的另一街头有一位女士在路边卖多肉。她卖的绝大多数品种我已经种了，但一些法师我就没有。我就在星期天久不久去她摆摊的地方看看有没有新品种，结果就买到了上图这些。可能我是她最大的客户吧，她说某人每一次都好豪气帮我付钱。

The Aeoniums in the picture above are the new breeds I planted this year. I accidentally saw them on the street and bought them to grow. One morning, I went to the local Farmers Market and saw a lady selling succulents on the roadside on another street not far away. I have planted most of the varieties she sells, but I don't have some Aeoniums. I often went to her stall on Sunday to see if there were any new varieties, and I bought the ones in the picture above. Maybe I'm her biggest customer. She said that my husband is so proud to help me pay every time.
