こんにちは 😁
I was waiting for it to be dark so I could translate and comment quietly.
a lot of the things you wrote about, are things that I have wondered about, that it might be somewhat illogical that you can't vote yourself when you have a high amount of HP, although the account lets you do it, and it is something that should be valid, because supposing I own a book company, I would use my company to promote my book, I wouldn't wait for another company to come and do it for me, it is my investment and I do with it what I want, but they are part of something they call "the unwritten rules of Hive".
From hive, every day I learn something new, and that I still do not enter the programming area, because it is not my branch, I am a videogame programmer and it is something I love, I know that for programming there is a lot of things to learn that is interesting, although not many like it.
I think that one of the strengths of hive, is that it evolves every day, and that makes it much more interesting, on the investment side, if you have to buy a good amount of HIVE, to increase the HP and that results, but this would be a long term investment, it does not make much sense to think about something short or medium.
It is nice to read you.

I understand well. HIVE is not something to buy and sell in the short term, I think the fun comes from locking the funds into our own account as HP and using that power to do various things on the HIVE chain.
I myself stopped self vote around the end of last year because I have less power to upvote others. But I don't think there is anything wrong with the way I used to do SELF VOTE before that or the people who are currently doing SELF VOTE. I think it's ok to receive some return because on they support HIVE by taking the risk of price fluctuation. However, I have heard that people can be downvoted if the reward is deemed excessive for the content of the post... so maybe people with huge HP should be careful.
It is true that HIVE is evolving fast, rather too fast for me to keep up! It is frustrating that I cannot read English without DeepL.
Thanks for reading!
