“Chicken Of the Woods Mushrooms”
I wrote about Lobster mushrooms the day before yesterday. I had Chicken of the Woods mushrooms yesterday.
My husband went fishing and he found these mushrooms by chance.
Chicken of the Woods are in the mushrooms guide book and we have always been interested in them. However, we never had a chance to have them. Finally, we ate them!
The taste of Chicken of the Woods is exactly like chicken! I heard vegan consume them as fried chicken. The middle parts are not recommended because it's a little bitter but the edge is very tasty.
When I hold them, they are very heavy but soft, and cold. I like to touch mushrooms. They are such cool living things.
In Japanese, we call them “Masutake.” Masu means trout and take means mushroom. In English, people call it chicken but in Japanese people call it fish! It is very interesting!
“マスタケ”
前回はロブスターマッシュルームについて書きましたが、昨日はマスタケ(チキン・オブ・ザ・ウッズ)を食べました。
魚釣りに出かけた主人が、偶然見つけてくれました。
ガイドブックに載っているマスタケが以前から気になっていたのですが、なかなかチャンスがありませんでした。やっと食べることができました。
チキン・オブ・ザ・ウッズはまさに鶏肉の味がしました。真ん中の部分は苦いのでオススメではないらしいです。はじの部分はとても美味しいです。
手に持った時、ずっしりと重いのですが、柔らかくてひんやりしています。きのこを触るのは好きです。なんともカッコイイ生き物です。
日本語では鱒のマスタケですが、英語では鶏肉なんですね。面白いです。

美味しかったです^_^ でもちゃんと加熱しきれてないとお腹が痛くなることもあるみたいです。主人のきのこ食用発見レパートリーが少しずつ増えてきました。魚はたま〜に釣れます。ありがたいです。

こちらは昨日マーケットでkoto-artさんのこと考えながらSteinpilz（ポルチーニ？）を買ってきました。さて何に料理しよう！
ドイツのマーケット楽しそうですね〜！！勝手な想像ですが、ドイツのマーケットは昔の古きよき日本の市場みたいなイメージです。プラスチック包装とかが少なさそうな感じです。
