Immigration to the USA can be a slow and painful process. It reveals flaws in governance that can’t be mitigated easily especially with the volatility inherent in politics.
All habitants of a society consume resources that aren’t managed ideally: food, employment and housing to name a few. People immigrating, however, can also be a part of the problem. They immigrate to escape the hardships that drove them away only to yearn for the ideals of what they left behind.
Citizens already in place can be a problem as well. They want others to share in the great dream so long as they don’t give up their luxuries.
People need to wake up to the the reality that improvement requires sacrifice. Immigrating to a new land means there are new rules. Sometimes, you need to leave the past behind. Similarly, those wanting to create an avenue for immigration need to realize that balance is important.
This is a topic that will continue to be debated for centuries to come.
