Hive Open Mic ( #openmic ) is a global community working for world peace through a love of live music. Each week is a new invitation to express and connect.
🎵 Hive Open Mic 101
March 13-19, 2022
Global harmony is our mission. World peace is our vision. Our community's international open mic event attracts 100+ musicians and thousands of listeners each week. Our virtual song circle reaches globally, while upholding the classic pattern of a traditional open mic event. At the end of each week, we celebrate the songs with a showcase, much like a live music concert.
All are welcome. We invite artists of every style and any skill level, providing a haven for creative expression and genuine connection. Here, we see real relationships building between music lovers worldwide. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are manifesting a live music movement, by sharing the gifts of musical performance and generous listening.
For the 101st week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "Freedom of Expression." This theme comes from our recent Spotlight Artist: @galih.amenk, a guitar wizard. Everyone is encouraged to share the collective current as we express and connect through: Freedom of Expression.
“Freedom of Expression”
This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Freedom of Expression.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.
How To Play
1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week 101,” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Requests
Show support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift we can give to an artist is our attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that everyone offer some friendly words. Reward musicians by offering applause as if we're in a pub, a coffee shop, or concert hall. Our comments might be the vital voice that gives a musician the wings to fly, or the gills to dive deep!

In the Hive Open Mic community, every week is an inspiring musical journey. Here, talented musicians bring their gifts to the virtual stage, reaching around the world. Listeners gain human connection on levels of heart and mind, including people of various cultures and languages. This is the harmonizing power of music.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental Human Right, many times it has been curtailed, other times it has been misused.
With music we can exalt it.

Greetings, community, it seemed very appropriate to me - within the theme of Freedom of Expression suggested for this week 101 - to sing "Meek Song For An Ungry Town" since in elliptical form it refers to a town in which meekness hides a repression that It prevents the free expression of their wills, preferences and thoughts. This town, which resembles a boy "running after the hope that is gone" at any moment can wake up, act and take off the yoke. Que extraordinaria iniciativa por el amigo @galih.amenk, buena elección. Es la oportunidad para escribir o encontrar temas que resalten esta temática. La Libertad de Expresión es la acción más faborable al ser humano pero siempre cuando sea Libertad y No Libertinaje. Amo la libertad para escribir, cantar, reir, llorar, hablar y gritar por supuesto. Pues demos el mayor de los gritos para que sepan que existimos nosotros los de este lado y los de aquél lado que trabajamos en función de dar de nosotros lo más placentero que se convierte en el aporte necesario para ir tras la justicia donde todos podamos expresarnos libremente pero sin herir a terceros. Por allí debemos comenzar para alcanzar ese mundo ideal en donde todos seamos una sola voz, una sola conciencia, una sola raza, una sola idea para conquistar la paz mundial.

Muy bueno el tema, nunca pierde vigencia. La libertad de expresión , en países en los cuales se va perdiendo paulatina pero seguramente, entre tantas carencias, es lo que más se extraña. En los países en que es normal la libertad de expresión se cumple aquello de que "nadie sabe lo que tiene hasta que lo pierde", es posible que no la valoren. Felicito a @galih.amenk por su elección que hará que vibremos todos en la misma frecuencia aunque las vivencias sean tan distintas.
