My experience presenting at Hivefest 10

What a great honor for me to be able to present my journey on Hive during Hivefest10 and talk about curation and community. This was my very first time going back on stage presenting in front of people after many years hiatus. I was so nervous about it that I even went to the venue very early. I tried to memorize all the scripts I had from my notes but alas, nothing went quite the way I expected it to be.
Before the presentation, I was already hanging out at the venue as they have awesome specialty coffee. I even met some two girls who work part time as the catering of the event and I talked to them about hive and gave this scannable card.

I really have to thank @acidyo for giving me a space to help curate around and grow on hive. This has been such a great 8 years journey and I am forever grateful for it.
And to my surprise, my ppt messed up haha. It should look like something here below but it ended up being all over the place. I should have checked twice again.

Someone told me if I were to get a rate, that would only be C 😂you know, at least they are honest that I got a C. I was expecting more but it is what it is. Will I stop trying to present? Honestly, I’ll actually try again. It was really fun and I enjoyed presenting and somehow talked about my cats. Which @sagarkothari88 was asking about. At the same time, @roelandp was doing such an awesome job to make me feel a lot less nervous. So, I am very thankful for that!
Later, I got great feedback from @arcange about how to improve my presentation and from @akumagai too, the big uncle who knows how to take pictures quite well!
Since I was presenting, I didn’t really take too many pictures but shout out to @phattaragon who took this awesome shot of me and I am sure there are my pictures everywhere. After I got down from the stage, I went around the venue looking for ways to shake my nervousness. I talked to way too many people that it would be so full of names here to tag all of them but I gotta say thanks to @aswita, @viviehardika @m31 and @chocolatescropi for making my first day quite memorable.
I can tell you as much, the coffee in the place was great. I had the ice coffee and it was pretty okay. I’d still approve of that one.

That was when I had the courage to approach @akumagai. He’s one of the few that I haven't talked to yet and I said Hi. I mean what’s worse could happen? Haha. He turned out to be such a cool Om-om (uncle) and we went to check out the bookstore above and took a great picture of me, one of my favorites during the event haha
" it's all about angle" that's what he said :D

Later, hearing a lot more presentations, I came across @sorin.cristescu about off chain and that one really captured my attention. At the moment I have a hub that can be used to bridge the hive and offline world. So, I have to talk to him about him and see ways to expand that hub.

I hung around with @phattaragon too and eventually took more pictures with @alessandrawhite and @m31 again 😄

Here I look pretty tired but I finally talked to @stoodkev! We knew each other from a project called @gnc almost 8 years ago and it was so great talking to him. It’s like meeting an old friend and being reconnected again. I also find @cryptospa funny with his questions and @walterjay( that I thought was a grandpa living in thailand) 😂 of course, there was @archange too who was giving me such great and helpful feedback of my presentation. This was such a memorable moment for me and I am taking notes of the things he said and more about stage control.
Later, I went back to my place and it had this massage chair, pretty interesting and that’s how I ended the night during the entire hivefest. This is the cool feature of the place I was staying at.

This presentation was such a great opportunity for me and I am happy to have gone through it. I learned a lot from it and that helped me improve. I got so many ideas right now to grow and expand especially when I talked to @@@starkerz about some problems with onboarding and distriator. I am looking forward to exploring those things and seeing where it leads. But I am going to take my time to settle down a bit and with this experience 😂. Everyone has written the closing one but I am not even done yet hahaha. So, bear with me everyone with my stories and experiences when I was there.
Was so great to meet you again after our long time ago #BaliMeetups
I „borrow“ you nice picture From worldmappin speech for my posts.
We all borrow from each other at this point haha 😄 please let me know if you make your way to bali. I'll make sure to fly there too hehe
Oh, you are so brave! ❤️
So glad you got so much support and so many great ideas.
Edit: Fabulous pictures of you!
😊 hehehe thank you! There's always room for improvement but glad I came out of my shell and did it.
I feel you, stage was always be something scary if it's the first time. But you did well!
hahahaaha thanks! I'd take C any day but from that point on, I'll improve 😁
I think you did very well too, and to be honest, those huge letters looked like a touch of art! in a place that was itself an artistic place. So the whole mood really revamped itself, even after you told the audience about it.
It was a pleasure to meet you finally... I can't produce posts like most people do after these events. I need my time to recover, plus coming back to family needs its time.
You are such a sweet person, from what I could tell. Keep doing what you like most.
See you around!
Thank you forky! Not sure if that was artistic but hahaha well lesson learned to take care of formatting now. I can't produce posts like most people either who are actually had done talking about the experience haha.
By the way, did you eventually try the coffee? I am still looking forward for any reviews on it :D
I took some of it at the hotel before leaving.... had to wait for a while, so I was not able to have it sit for enough time. I haven't had one for a while... my impression was that it was ok, but again, I haven't had one for a while... and I am very used to my manual machine every morning...
Curious: Are you providing some sort of feedback to them?
Actually no but I want to know if they're good, I am getting some of them if I am traveling overseas as a gift. So, yeah if it's not that good, I won't pick that one up again 😄
Taste and preferences can get in the way of these things 😅, so always take it with a grain of salt.
Also, not joking, but adding salt to coffee, gives can help smooth some flavours if they are harsh to grasp. I think the last time I tried this was actually with the famous "Greek coffee" I had in the past (hence why I recalled this).
Looks like I will have to buy the new one... looks pretty dope!

This is really a great event. Hive Fest 10 is a massive one that has made you all come together, and I love how you all made it fun. One thing I would have loved to know if I had attended this Hive Fest was to know more about the word mapping because I find it hard to understand it, and I really love to be part of this community. I wouldn't mind if I could get a better explanation from you.
Do you mean worldmappin?
Yes
Finally saw your face hehe... You guys are lucky to have attended the hivefest. When will they do that in the Philippines? haha.
!LADY
Soon they'll do that in the Philippines haha. I look forward to meet hivers from that region tbh because I only know one 😄 from there. I have my pictures everywhere by now just around Hivefest tags. Truthfully, I don't have that many collections on my phone but everyone has it, so some of them are like borrowing from them.
I bet many will attend if it happens in the Philippines

Talking about the slides, I thought it’s design and liked it as it was 😊 It was nice to meet you. See you soon again Macchiata!
🤣 It wasn't the design hahahaha I wished we took more pictures together. See you soon and around Aki
It was so great to meet you after all this time!
Hope to see you again next year, at HiveFest, or in Bali or Taiwan =)
😄Bali or Taiwan sounds like a great idea. See you again soon 😊
Congratulations @macchiata on your Presentation. I believe this was one of your proudest moment in your life. Presenting in front of many people is not easy and it takes a lot of courage and confidence - and you made it! This will inspire each and everyone here!😊
It's definitely one of my proudest moment. It was such a great experience too that I had the chance to present here. It wasn't easy but yay, I did it.
at least in this post there is 'the gantengnya aku' LOL
I've watched the presentation! It's so cool to see you on such a big stage :) at first I thought the slides were originally designed like how it presented because I think that looks attractive😅 then you said you forget to resize them haha. Truly appreciate the conversation about "belonging" as well, that's so meaningful. Lastly, maybe you should write about each name of all your cats soon😂
What a wonderful experience you’ve had, @macchiata. Congratulations! 😍
