Omg!...pondering over the #BOM - Blog of the month Challenge, took be back quite a few decades.
If you had the opportunity to travel back in time for just a week - to change just one thing in your life... What would it be?
There are quite a few things I would love to have changed, or shall I say, re-adjust a little.
When one is young and carefree, one has this concept that we have all the time in the world to make choices concerning our careers and life itself; then suddenly..."Boom Bang Crash!...life suddenly takes a U turn, and one is in a relationship, then marriage happens and children arrive.
What on earth happened to all those plans of traveling overseas on a working holiday, or pursuing one's dream career.
Yip!...time stands still for no-one...Omg!...then we're suddenly old and knitting for grandchildren and talking to the dog (one's fur kid) that is, not the old man Lol! I mean I do talk to him too...oh dear!... let me shut up before I get into trouble.

If I could travel back in time, there is one thing that I would definitely change.
While I was in my last year at school, I worked at a Hairdressing Salon in the neighborhood on a Saturday morning. I really enjoyed working there, learning about different hairstyles, although my job was to sweep up the hair from the floor and clean the wash hand basins and the general tiding up of the place , basically, I was the cleaner for the morning Lol!...It didn't bother me at all...I still enjoyed it.

I was going to pursue that path and become a "Hairdresser" and one day have my own Salon.
At the time, three years apprenticeship and low pay, seemed so far away...instead, I became a clerk in a retail store for three years before meeting the love of my life, nothing else mattered, all dreams and plans seemed to fade into the distance... "Romance" was in the air.
Oh boy!...love can make one soooo! blind.
I regret to this day, that I did not pursue that dream of becoming a Hairdresser .
If I had the opportunity to go back in time, that would definitely be the thing I'd change for sure.
Oh well!...one cannot go back and change it, if only one could....that's about the only real regret I have in my life...I would've been the best Hairdresser in town..."Sigh"....bloody hell Cheryl...what were you thinking girl?
With that regrettable note...I shall leave you wonderful people to ponder over your travels back in time, and look forward to reading your stories.
Until next time, have a great day.
Oh well....I suppose one can play hairdressing with one's grand-babies.

Thanks for passing by.Haha! @mondoshawan you really crack me up, I do sometimes cut my own hair, my grandchildren won't let me near them anymore. I've had some glitches, believe me. Hehe!
I sooooo feel with them, these days where the days i hide myself from my mother... it didn't look that bad as in this gif, but really close... 😁
My husband cuts his own hair, it drives me crazy, he does it well though. He use to cut my girls hair when they were small, my middle daughter use to hide every time it was her turn.Lol! Poor child.
i used to cut mine with a beard trimmer for years.... stopped 10 years ago to cut my hair at all. that kind of changed my look and i became a yeti. at least that what i'm called sometimes. hahahaha
Hehe! if it makes you happy...good for you. I don't know what a "yeti" is Lol! You'll have to educate me. Lol! It sounds quite unique Hahahaha!
Thanks @mondoshawan for making me laugh, you always lighten up the day.
That's my Yeti Brother... 😁 but beware, he's uglier then me... hehehe
We always regret the chances not taken. There's a lot of things that I wish I had done in the past but couldn't afford to do at the time. I just didn't have a sense of direction or focus. I am still not 100% clearer in my focus but I know that I have to remove the things that are holding me back from moving forward.
Absolutely correct, we can't hold ourselves back by harbouring regrets.
Move forward, that's all we can do.
Thank you @shaidon for stopping by.
Thank you for the reply. :)
Lots of moments and cross road decisions to reflect on here as well, but it’s like Tony Stark said, retrieve what we lost if we can by all means, but I can’t loose what I’ve got. (Or something like that) The remedy I’ve found is to set my sights on resurrecting those dreams and work towards them today, just one step at a time, as you say, time is not really on our side as much as we once thought, but it feels good to still try to make those dreams become real at least 😊
There are so many things I would like to change if I could go back in time. Regrets are a part of life. But the decisions we make are what make us the people we are. Thankfully there are always new opportunities in life, although even then it's impossible to be sure that you've made the right decision when you make it, only time will prove it to be good or bad.
I've had a good life so far, there's been ups and downs, but that's what makes us stronger people, so, even with the regrets, I think life turned out just the way it should've I believe.
Thank you so much fo stopping by.So true @kaazoom I couldn't say it better.
The prompt does brings us back to some regrettable decisions we have made. But maybe you can still do hairdressing this time, just not with customers but with your family members hehe!

Thank you @farm-mom, for stopping by.
Life does not always take us where we want to go my friend, but when you look back, imagine how different your life would have been, and all the experiences and friendships you would have missed. It's nice having dreams though!
You are so right my friend, I believe life worked out just the way it intended to for me.
Strange though, I never thought that in the end I would land up in the corporate banking world for seventeen years. Omg, that was the last place I'd ever dreamed of working, glad I'm out of that environment.
Have a great week
I thought I would be the only one who could talk about those absurd decisions that are made in youth, sometimes we decide to leave for later and when we realize as you say, it's too late there is no opportunity to run after that dream, for various occupations, time or age no longer allows it and if one wonders
What the heck were you thinking at that time silly?
But you have to live with that and that's it, there is always beauty and gratification in what is decided, like our children, talking to our dogs or cats, I talk to mine, hahaha, I love them and for me they are the apple of my eye, a big hug from Venezuela.
My children and my dogs are my life.
Have a beautiful week from South Africa. And a big hug to you @actioncats thank you for the kind words.
Hairdressing is so cool, but the money is not so good for people on your feet all day!
That was one of the things that actually put me off, I would still have liked to give it a go though Lol!
Thanks @tengolotodo for stopping by, have a great day.
jeje My wife is a hairdresser and we used to own a Salon, and people well they can be the worst!
I'm sure there are those nasties out there.
I like to think there's more good ones though. Lol!
Have a great week @tengolotodo
Oh yes there are lots of great ones:)
Thank you and you too @artywink
