Silver Mamma Chef's Special guests

in Silver Bloggers2 years ago

Silver Mamma Chef pottered around her kitchen, wondering what she was going to cook for the two of them.
Her life has become so "hum drum" lately, her thoughts wondered to all that use to make her happy, her art, can't remember when last she took a paint brush to canvas or cooked a good meal.
She misses the days of planning meals for the week and being creative with food, it's only been a couple of months since Angela and the boys left for Cape town, it seems so long ago, she thought pensively; her eyes welling up with tears, oh how she misses them, her heart heavy with pleasant memories of them popping in with their bag of organic vegetables and meat for Silver Mamma Chef to cook.
Angela, being a fuss pot when it comes to food, everything has to be organic, no preservatives or colorants, completely naturel or nothing at all, they kept her days occupied with cooking and baking and motivating her to do more. She felt the tears welling up again, she was having a real self pity party today and had to pull herself together before it got out of hand.
Taking a deep breath and straightening her apron, she moved towards the fridge and removed the beef roast and began preparing dinner for two.

Come on now!... she thought, we're might be on our way to our twilight years, definitely not there yet, smiling to herself, she felt a glint of humor rise up inside of her remembering something she had read awhile back, a person between the ages of 60 and 69 years are called a "Sexagenarian" and a person between 70 and 79 years are called a "Septuagenarian" so I guess we are "Sexagenarian" and "Septuagenarian" living out our retirement together.

So "Silver Mamma chef" will be cooking for Sex and Sep today.
Sep was very excited when Mamma Chef announced the menu of the day and her plan for a romantic one at that.

Menu of the Day
Roast beef, baked potatoes in their jackets and whole carrots with butter herbs and garlic, wrapped in tinfoil and baked in the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Silver Mamma Chef caringly put the roast safely in the oven and set the timer for the required time.

Sep approached her taking her hand in his and tenderly kisses it.
"How do you do Pretty Lady", tipping his hat politely with his other hand' "I'm Sep",
"Please to meet you Sep, I'm Sex", she replied courteously.
"Would you like to dance Sex?" Seth asked with a twinkle in his eye.
"I would love to", she replied.
Taking her hand, he lead her to the lounge, then poured them each a glass of red wine.
Taking a sip, she watched as Seth turned on the music.

They danced to "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright) by Rod Steward, and "Dance me to the end of love by" Leonard Cohen, which was her favorite song, just to name a few golden Oldies.
They laughed and chatted sipping wine like two teenagers on a first date, just chilling and enjoying the moment.
Then suddenly Sex pulls away from Sep, the oven timer was heard buzzing above the music.
"Oh!....I have to go", she cried regrettably, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand.
Sep, feeling rather deflated..... after all..... he was just beginning to have fun.
"Come back soon my love" he replied with anticipation.

Silver Mamma Chef laid the table with place mats, arranging the plates and food for "Dinner for Two".

Mamma Chef took her apron off and hung it on the hook, straightening her dress; she was going to let her hair down tonight and forget about the days worries and woes, she was enjoying herself to much for that, then she announced that dinner was ready.

Sex and Sep ate and chattered and danced some more, well into the night enjoying each others company then retired for the night, well satisfied with their accomplishments of the day.

Silver Mamma Chef has had a change of mind set and promised herself she would enjoy every moment of the rest of her life from now on, life is to short for regrets.
